Yay! I got my Indy Fedora hat back!

Disney did not let me down! They showed their promise and returned my hat back to me. My Indy fedora is the same I bought at the Indiana Jones Outpost back in Summer 2010. But it is not the same, instead the hat is a replacement for my old one, I guess they could not find it and wanted to apologize by giving me a replacement free of charge for my lost hat on Matterhorn before the refrub and during the refurb.

Thank you, Disney. I wish I can provide positive feedback on the Lost and Found services, though the phone can work too, though.

Re: Yay! I got my Indy Fedora hat back!

I once lost a hat on the Haunted Mansion and was pretty bummed out about it. I checked out lost and found, filled out a report and flew back home a little saddened at my loss. Less than 2 days later, my hat was waiting for me in the mail. Serious kudos need to be given to Disney's lost and found department! Glad you got your hat back, too!

I lost my hat on big thunder. I got it back alright, but it was pretty roughed up and I just ended up getting a new one. I wear mine daily, including at work, so it can't look ragged.

Wow, this is another time when Disney really went above and beyond to make the experience the best it can be.
Thanks for a great positive post!

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

Yay! Okay, RIGHT NOW go put your name and phone number inside the hat. Find a spot on the liner or the label, and get a super-fine Sharpie...

Or order a roll of the old Iron-On Camp Labels with just the last name and number - They still make them. If you need more differentiation you can always add the first initial with a Sharpie to tell which family member it belongs to.

Ask your postman, but usually the Name and the proper Zip+4 code on the tag is enough to get it back to you without putting the actual address on the tag - the Zip+4 Presort will narrow it down to one big building or one to two blocks max, your regular postman knows which house/apartment is yours past that. Ours is one block, Odd Side only.

Go on, do it now - we'll be here waiting when you get back.

Re: Yay! I got my Indy Fedora hat back!

My son lost his hat with our last name and phone number inside it. The problem was I hadn't put the AREA CODE with the phone number. So the CM couldn't call us to tell us they had it. We stopped into Lost and Found the next day, and they gave it to us. So put your area code in it! (I had just put it in to differentiate it from his baseball teammates' hats. Heh.)

Re: Yay! I got my Indy Fedora hat back!

I've witnessed how they do the inventory at the lost and found, it's very thorough and they do their best to figure out the owner.

A few years ago, I bought a clock from WDW and returned it to the hotel shop the same day to get a replacement and when I went back before I left and they accidentally gave me the broken clock back. I took the loss and a a month later, I got a box from Disney with a new clock... It's weird how they do things, but it's awesome!

not the same but it just shows how surprisingly organized they are.

Lost and Found came through for me, too. I had lost my favorite visor (it had Tigger's face across the lid) 'somewhere' in the Park. It was mailed to me within a couple of weeks. I was quite impressed and thankful!
