Cool Ae we getting a new yeti in the Matterhorn?

This has probably been asked already but I was wondering if anybody knew if we're going to have an updated yeti in the Matterhorn. I grew up with the present one and love it but it honestly could use an updated yeti. It would be awesome if we could get one that moves around a bit more like the one they have in Expedition Everest at WDW. What do you think?

I believe the same yeti's will be used but they are being refreshed and having their movements enhanced.

I don't think so. We know about the new fleet of bobsleds and show upgrades like lighting and projections, but nothing regarding new AA figures.

The current yeti figures serve their purpose rather well and i don't think theres any need for new ones. The sleds go so fast you only see the yeti for a fraction of a second anyhow.

Besides, the AA Yeti at WDW is infamous for not working like it was supposed to. Some refer to it as Disco Yeti because they had to add strobe lights and some fans to make it seem like he is moving. As far as I know it hasn't been functional for quite a while now.

From what I understand there is no yeti on the Matterhorn. There is however a few abominable snowmen.

yeti = abominable snowmen = myth.

They are all myths except for the disco strobe lights.

I hope not! My daughter, now 6, went on it once and was so terrified of the "bear" that she still won't go on it. If they make it more realistic, I can give up all hope of her ever riding it again.

I believe Harold moves more than Disco yeti. Dsico yetis roars and that's about it. I know when he was new he was pretty awesome. you know what would be cool exterior snow projections at night!!!!

The Disneyland Explorer app. An official Disney app apparently got it wrong then, because they call Harlod a Yeti.

    Yes.

And when I was in WDW in Oct
I never saw this "great" Yeti there.
There was a projection of a Yeti on the wall.

The yeti appears after that part and hangs down above you. It use to be the climax of the ride but since it's been turned off it is super anticlimactic and ruins that whole segment. If you don't know he's there and when to look up its very easy to miss it. The strobes weren't even on last time I was there which made it even worse.

    Yes, the strobes weren't working
so I have no clue to where he is.
I rode it hoping to see him
since he was the big advertising point when the ride opened.
    I was underwhelmed.

It's really sad that Everest Yeti doesn't work anymore. I've ridden it once when he was working properly and it was amazing. He gave the train a good swipe as we went under him and I thought he was going to take my head off!
