Wait, did it soft-open today? I can't seem to find any information.
Edit: Wait nevermind, I found something.

Someone just texted me that they were in line to go on the ride! I'll post after I hear if he made it.
I am at the Top Brass Bar in the DLH downloading photos as I type....
It opened to guests around Noon today, and closed less than an hour later due to a breakdown.
It opened later, and I got a chance to ride, and got in line for a second ride, when the ride broken down again..... So be prepared for stoppages and the queue being closed.
Overall I am impressed, especially compared to Superstar Limo.

Have a beer for me DB, I love the Top Brass as it is only steps away from the best breakfast in DLR..... Granvilles!

I got to go twice. Once at around 2 PM, and then again at around 3. (They had one of the afformentioned breakdowns, but it only lasted about 45 minutes. Those of us that stayed in line got our ride).
***MILD SPOILERS**
If you know the story of the movie, you know the story of the ride. It pretty much recreates the high points of the plot, with the guests riding through Monstropolis in a cab.
I liked the mix of black light effects in some scenes, interspersed with other scenes lit in incandescent light.
I liked the "Wasabi" smell in the Harryhausen's scene. (once I exited though, my nostrils were filled with the scent of ...burning coffee. That smell seems to permeate the whole park.)
The queue, loading area, and tunnel at the start where all obviously the same from SSL, but for the rest of the ride, you'd never know you where in the same building.
All in all a good ride. Finally! A family dark ride in DCA with no height or health restrictions! It's a start. Oh, and I liked the appearing/disappearing/chameleon effects with the "Randall" figures.
***END SPOILERS***
Great photos Darkbeer!

It was open to the public today and It did break down quite a bit. I really enjoyed it. About a billion times better than stupidstar limo. hehe. I assume they will have soft openings spanning all the way to the weekend or so and then close for a month and fix all the mistakes they have found during the soft openings. If you can get on it, you are in for a treat!
P.S. I was almost late for work today because of the ride and I saw Matt Oimet.
One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said, "Disneyland burned down."
He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke.
I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.

I went on it twice today, first time cute, second time impressed. Well worth a visit to DCA......15 minute wait the first time, 45 minute the second. No breakdowns for us and everything seemed to be working fine. Would recommend highly....even if you are not a fan of Monsters Inc.!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,it's what they are like in their HEART!
