Disney releases their in-park app to iPhone and all users (android too!)
Disney parks blog announced this morning that their in park app 'Disney mobile magic' is now available on iPhone and downloadable for free from the app store.
The app offers maps, show times, wait times, and claims to offer FP availability and return time information.
The app is tied to location services, and when you aren't in the parks, appears to limit some of the information made available.. so no real voyuarism on looking at exact wait times.
Please try it out in the parks and let us know if it actually makes true wait times (not just 'moderate', etc) and FP times available!
Here is the android market link https://market.android.com/details?i...neyMobileMagic
and for iPhone just look in the app store!
Re: Disney releases their in-park app to iPhone and all users (android too!)
Used it for Android back in Oct at Disneyworld.
It worked. And yeah, you had to be in that park to see specific FP times.
If you weren't or your location setting isn't on, it just says things like "moderate"

So since the App uses "local services" does that mean if you dont have Internet access the app can still get info if your in the parks?

And what of Crackberry users?
Re: Disney releases their in-park app to iPhone and all users (android too!)
Not available for Canadians :(
Re: Disney releases their in-park app to iPhone and all users (android too!)
Will this kill apps like MouseWait and the like? I know those apps have a lot of, um, "bloat" features, but I want streamlined info.
Re: Disney releases their in-park app to iPhone and all users (android too!)
do I have to be inside the theme park or resort to get the FP and wait times?
What if I am inside DCA and want to know the wait times for DL? will it still work?
Re: Disney releases their in-park app to iPhone and all users (android too!)
This is cool and all, but I can't use it! Last time I went to DL, I got zero service. I couldn't call, text, or use data. Stupid Sprint :(

Can't find it. Is it not a iPhone/iPad app?

Its very strict other users have said about being in the parks. Dunno if it treats DCA and DL as 'equals' in terms of allowing access to the data. When not in the parks, all you get is labels like 'moderate' 'high' etc

It uses location services aka GPS.. if you don't grant it access to that, you get the dumbed down info.
If you don't have network access at all - it doesn't seem to do anything. I turned on airplane mode and the app basically just sits there waiting for network
So you need a data connection to use it
Makes you wonder if maybe limited access wifi is in the future for the parks... would tie into all the nextgen technology concepts, etc. Cell service is nortiously spotty in the parks. Turning on a public wifi overlay with Disney-app only access would alleviate that.
