Is Verna Felton the voice of Pele?

    Hi MiceChatters,

I was randomly wondering if the late Verna Felton did the voice of Pele from The Enchanted Tiki Room?

I was watching the 1951's Alice in Wonderland last night. Then I was thinking that I know she did the Queen of Hearts & Matriarch the Elephant from Dumbo. Also her performance in I Love Lucy.

But I kept thinking that Pele sounds like her too. I can't find any information online, that tells the voices of the Tiki Gods & Godesses.

I've always thought it had an Eleanor Audley suppressing her accent quality to it myself.

Yeah, it could be her too. I kept thinking that she has a quite strong voice to be like Verna Felton too.

But now, I am focusing on Eleanor Audley's too.

So far as I know, Eleanor Audley is Pele and Thurl Ravenscroft is Tangarora.

I've heard but have never been able to confirm that Tangaroa-Ru (The East Wind) was voiced by Ginny Tyler, Hina Kuluua (Goddess of Rain) by Ann Bazam, and that Ernie Traveras (Taveras?*) voiced "And now, ladies and gentlemen, come with us, to a land of joyous songs, and wondrous miracles...Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room."

*I have no info on Ernie Traveras, but Ernie Taveras was a Hawaiian steel guitar player of note in the two decades before the Tiki Room opened in 1963.

    Thank you for telling me.

This "Ernie Traveras/Taveras" must have been the same voice for Koro too. They both sound the same.

Thurl Ravenscroft is also the voice of Fritz in the Enchanted Tiki Room. He was also the lead singer for the Mello Men who performed both "Yo, Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" and "Grim Grinnin' Ghosts." In fact, the broken singing bust with the mustache is Thurl himself.
