I think marvel would be awesome in tomorrowland with either stark expo in innoventions or a iron man ride! I just dont see what the difference of having marvel in the park compared to Star wars?

There are a few members on here who will still argue until they are blue in the face that Star Wars and Indiana Jones should never have been in the park, regardless of the fact that the attractions are both high quality, and Indy's queue being the best in park (IMO). i don't know why some don't think they fit, unless it's just the fact that they aren't originally Disney brands. Attractions like Pirates and THM showed that Disneyland can have more of an edge, and some darker themes to it well before they showed up.

I think that if they could, and felt the need to integrate Marvel into one of their parks, that DCA could put them in Hollywoodland and I wouldn't care.

But if I ever see Marvel in DISNEYland....I think I might just cry.

I think once the shock wore off, it'd be like normal. I mean nowadays no one bats an eye at Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Jedi and Stormtroopers in Tomorrowland.

Re: Marvel Characters At Disney Theme Parks?!

I wouldn't mind Marvel being in the Disney parks, I think the problem is just finding a place to put them. Indiana Jones works because it fits perfectly in Adventuerland. Star Wars is a no-brainer to go in Tomorrowland. But where would Marvel characters go? They are very real, modern-day characters that tackle real situations while Disney characters often exist in their own settings.

Spider-Man fights crime in present-day New York. The Hulk is a scientist. The only way I could see a fit would be Tony Stark in Tomorrowland (I'm a big fan of the Stark Expo concept replacing Innoventions).

Other than those contemporary heroes we have Captain America (New York, 1940's, fights Nazis) which I don't see a fit at Disneyland. I know people have brought up Phantom Rider for Frontierland but he's a lesser known hero and would seem shoe-horned in for the sake of having a Marvel presence. Ghost Rider would maybe work in Frontierland but he's a demonic, present-day character that doesn't really match the tone set by Frontierland either.

I want to see a whole Marvel theme park opened up in a third gate. I've already day-dreamed some cool things they could do with it.

YES! This is the obvious solution and makes both the Marvel fans and the Disneyland purists happy. Anything less than this is just pouring gas on the fire.

But yeah, a perfect scenario for me would be a 3rd gate that could do the characters and settings justice instead as just finding a way to cram them in.

I would love a third gate for marvel but i doubt it will happen for years so I would say that marvel will have a attraction in either DCA or tomorrowland before the third gate ever opens

Replace Captain Eo with a 3D Avengers adventure. It could be an easy fit given the high tech nature of the characters and their equipment. Make it beyond the limits of what the movies have brought to the table and include a larger team of heroes and villans. The concept for a Stark Industries tour at inoventions sounds promising but maybe put several smaller motion simulators on the inside while using the outter moving ring as very rich and immersive que or maybe put the old people mover tracks to us.

I see no reason to be so upset about new characters. The practice started a long time ago and has brought in several new attractions that enhance the park rather than detract. New ideas are always hard to swallow but are not always a bad thing when handled properly.

That'smy thought on it, but it seems that a lot immediately jump to the worst possible scenario and don't even consider the option that it COULD be done right, in their eyes it will be done wrong, it will be terrible and it will ruin Disneyland.

I agree with the third park option, I think Marvel as a whole is big enough to warrant it, but again it won't happen anytime soon. What about at minimum meet and greets in DTD? Probably not.

So why does everyone say Hollywoodland? Which Marvel character was based in Hollywood? The only commonality is that they had movies made about them, which in that case means all Disney properties should be confined to Hollywoodland.
Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.

I think people use that as a lazy catch all idea "Put em in Hollywoodland" if they can't find a way to make them fit anywhere else.
