I'm not a fan of Starbucks, at least it's not inside Disneyland, but on Downtown Disney. Because Starbucks is overrated, aggressive take over of family owned business coffee shops, shady businesses, and their shipment of coffee through violent conflicts involving some people's lives.

I'm not a coffee drinker other than a half cup in the morning to get me going, so I couldn't care less which brand gets placement; however, like others have said, I don't want it to be glaring that STARBUCKS IS RIGHT OVER HERE! RIGHT HERE!
the only way I will be okay with it, if it is very VERY subtle.

It's funny in a way how some react to this stuff: they always jump to the worst possible outcome and go into panic mode over it instead of taking the time to say "Hey, let's see how it pans out before freaking out". They did it with Marvel, they did it w/ the new PFF thing and are doing it w/ Starbucks. I imagine they also did it with Star tours and Indiana Jones in the past. If they have some big gaudy Starbucks sign on Main Street or something, yes, by all means, get angry. Just don't assume that's how it will end up.
It's not starting a fight. If you're going to make such a claim you HAVE to back it up with some facts/a source. It's highly unfair to label a person/corporation with such a broad stroke without also offering up some proof. The claim seemingly has some implications on whether or not Disney should be doing business with SB.

Could you please stop using measured reason in this thread. You're totally killing my rage buzz. Arrrrrgh! Star Bucks!

I'm not sure I'm following you. From what I understand Starbucks in involved in fair trade. So instead of paying 12 year olds 75 cents a day to grow and harvest coffee, they make sure that the plantations they get their coffee from only employ adults getting paid at least $9.00 per hour. (This is actually a huge reason why that cup of Starbucks costs you 5 bucks).
And while it's hard for a mom and pop place to compete against Starbucks, those same mom and pop places wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Starbucks as well. Before Starbucks peoples idea of good coffee was opening up a can of Folgers. Now, because of Starbucks success more and more people know about the mom and pop places and seek them out. I'd say that the mom and pop places exist more due to Starbucks success than Starbucks squeezing them out of the marketplace.

Why I can't criticise? Criticism is both good and bad. I love Disney, but they're not perfect and they made lots of mistakes in the past as well, but they're improving as always. You can't always praise, if you don't know it's flaws. Starbucks is improving, but I don't go and buy there stuff. I'm not addicted to coffee, but I enjoy drinking coffee occasionally.

It's nothing to do with your criticism. You made a very serious charge without any evidence. You have now posted several links. I haven't read them yet but this is pretty good. I'm going to read through it.
That's all. It was just a fairness point. You could be right, I have no idea because I just don't follow Starbucks all that much. Now I have some info.

The first two links are incredibly laughable. Their biggest gripes are that Starbucks has beat out its competition and that they only made ecological changes after getting "caught." Sorry to the mom-and-pop stores, but if Starbucks has better business, there is no reason for them to not lease more stores--no matter how close they are. As for the Ecosalon link...they're ridiculous. They criticize Starbucks for making green changes after being exposed for the errs of their ways. Did they want Starbucks to keep their bad habits just so they can remain the black sheep of the market? Or were they expecting any multi-decade old business to be green from the get-go?
And before this thread gets into trouble or moved to the debate lounge or to the litterbox...
Lets keep on track and talk about Starbucks coming to the park... and not so much about the political side.![]()
I feel it would be okay as long as they don't interfere with the theme of wherever it'll be, which I'm sure Disney will have full control of, and as long as the employees are certified in Disney show standards. I like me a little Starbucks in the morning because it'll keep me going for 12 hours lol. I mean, even McDonalds played nice with theming and they were around for a good long time.
In defense of the debate I do think whether or not Starbucks is fair trade and their general business practices is an important part of analyzing whether or not the company belongs in the park. I think it's pretty pertinent. But if you still think otherwise I shall stay away oh captain my captain.
