Quick TR with a TOT evac...I think, and I got a shock.

Went to the park with the GF today. Got there at 11, wanted a relaxing day. Had to take the tram twice as my gf forgot she had pepper spray in her purse. We had security escort us to the tram to make sure we weren't going to try to pocked it and go back thru the checkpoint. Anywho....The parks were pretty crowded. Only got on about 7 attractions (including ST and Aladdin).

So while at DCA, I noticed people on the deck of TOT. Is this an evac?





The most eventful part of the day happened on the walkway into DCA, right before the first merchandise stall. We were walking and all of a sudden someone falls on me hard. At first I thought it was a kid who had tripped, but It turned out to be a woman who had started to have a seizure. It shocked the &*^% out of me at first, but myself and a few woman around me sprung to action. I slowly put her down. I ran over to the Merchandise booth to tell them about the situation while the woman stayed with her. The Cast Member ran inside the guest relation building to get help, but by the time I had turned around, there were at least 4 cast members with the woman. So this all took less than 20 seconds. So props to Disney for there ultra-fast response!

Wow...I really wonder how they got up to that balcony in the ToT. I think I remember seeing someone post about taking photos from there here.

As for the seizures, I was wondering what has been going on lately, I remember less than a month ago when I went someone had a seizure right in front of the dole whip cart, it was pretty shocking and I hope they were okay, but I am sure since they got her right away.

That is not an evacuation from TOT. There has been Imagineers/Exec's going up to that balcony ever so often to get a birds eye view of the progress in Cars Land. As a matter of fact, there is a time lapse camera mounted on the banister besides them that has been rolling since day 1. Hopefully the footage will turn up around opening day!

An evacuation from that floor would mean fire department involvement because of the nature of the emergency. As for HOW they got up there, well there IS an elevator you know!

Today was a pretty awful day for ride break downs! ToT was broken when we went to go on it, Screamin' broke when we were in line, GRR didn't open until afternoon, TSMM was broken down every time we walked past, TLM broke down 3 times throughout the day, Indiana Jones was broken down at least 3 times, Jungle Cruise we got stuck waiting on the boat for 5 minutes.... I had a blast but it was just one of those days!

Those are most likely Disney executives or Imagineers getting a birds eye look at Cars Land.

Not the first time Disney has taken people up there to get a look at the expansion.

Agree. I kept checking my App and there would always be at least one ride down. Our front gate turnstile broke down in front of us!

That's not an evac. I read about this on Facebook last night, and know exactly what this is. This is a group of management trainees called "Emerging Leaders". They were taken up there to the balcony on purpose to get a birds-eye view of Cars Land because WDI won't let tours of unauthorized CM's go through the land yet (unless you wait until the weekends when WDI is long gone and you can just walk in with a hard hat and vest on, now that hard hats and vests are found all over the Resort for Safety reasons.)

That TOT balcony is used constantly for views of Cars Land, for everyone from executives to random groups having events in a hotel ballroom. There's a group called "Special Events" who have Leads that are almost exclusively Attractions Leads, and they work extra shifts for Special Events. The Special Events group is always taking people up to the balcony for the view, even if they have nothing to do with Cars Land. It's just a free perk the Resort can give out to groups who have reserved big ballrooms or special events. The Special Events team always likes to dole out the freebies and perks like this to put the clients in a good mood and make the event go smoother.

Technically, the constant stream of tour groups up onto that balcony is really Bad Show. It's very visible from the park, and it ruins the theme of the Tower of Terror to have a gaggle of people milling around up there on the side of the tower. But, Show is the very last key nowadays and even the Resort's big leaders who are in charge of the Emerging Leader program don't care any more. They just wanted to go up to the balcony and get a fun view of Cars Land like everyone else, and the Show be damned.

Yup, Disney put it on the list of things not allowed in the resort/parks (on the website). The list can get interesting.

I kept joking about it to my gf all day about how she forgot she had it. But something did annoy me. Once we learned we had to take it back to the car (and happily agreed) we had a woman "secretly" following us. At one point I asked her a question about how to get to the quickest Mickey and Friends tram and she answered almost annoyed, and angry with me, as if I was a disgruntled guest. So ya, that happened.
