    2006 Rose Parade Float

Is going to look SPECTACULAR. It incorparates the Castles of all 5 Disneyland style parks. Its going to be the largest entry in the parade measuring in at 50 feet tall and 150 feet long using 50,000 roses. The illustration I've seen probably won't do the float justice.

Can't things just be a surprise anymore. I know I kinda spoiled it by describing what I've seen, but it was just so people would watch on January 2nd. I can't provide a link to where I saw it. Nor can I post it as a picture. Sorry

^ You post a topic describing the float then you say "Can't it be a surprise" when somebody asks about it.

That doesn't make any sense to me.

    Anyone???

yeah, I agree. Why would you post it on a disney fan board?? Were all fans, so we all would like to see it beforehand!

It sounds boring to me. Are any characters like Mickey going to be on the float? Or just some random kids?

You know, search is such a powerfully amazing tool...

    http://www.micechat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16343
It has a link to the concept art for the NAMM float, and a crude picture of what the float looks like being built.

    Just a reminder...

There are only THREE different styles of castles. WDW's castle is identical to Tokyo's and Disneyland's is identical to Hong Kong's. Paris is an original though...

Bottom line, putting identical castles on the float will look strange. Maybe there will be one for the right and the other for the left. I don't know, but Disney has NOT made unique castles for all its parks.

Here's info on it, copied from the HGTV website parade lineup -

    "Disney Parks (#47)
Float Theme: The Most Magical Celebration on Earth

Celebrating 50 years of Disney theme park magic, Disney Parks around the world continue the fun and excitement of their global "Happiest Celebration on Earth" throughout 2006. The Disney float entry is highlighted by a floral depiction of five beloved Disney castles as seen in California, Florida, Japan, France and Hong Kong. Soaring nearly 50 feet high and 150 feet long (the longest Rose Parade entry this year), the float features the U.S. premiere of the newest Disney song "One," written exclusively for the recent grand opening of Hong Kong Disneyland. The float is composed of more than 50 distinct varieties of roses with plant materials from each of the Disney theme park host countries and states. Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland in southern California stands prominently in the float design as the original Disney symbol of magic and happily-ever-afters."

Sounds like Disneyland's 50th takes a back seat to Disneyland lite(HKDL) promotion.

Remember that last year's float was the heavy 50th promotion. It makes sense that it takes a backseat to something the next year rather than repeating a theme two years in a row.

But In reality, there are 3 Unique Castle Designs and 2 Copies... Why bother putting two sets of near identical castles on the float?
