I kind of hope so, way to many people in the parks these days!

For me yeah it does get "crowded" but I rather see more people enjoying the park...then making it a par for "richer" people.....just have fair ticket prices don't jump them since really what DCA got int he last few years...should have been there when the park opened

    LOL here we go

Really, going to Disneyland should be a right. The government could then set prices and ration days so that everyone gets a chance to go at a reasonable price and crowd level. And Disney could get a subsidy to offset the price/crowd decrease. And AP holders could pay a small tax fee, to pay for the subsidy.

    Oooooooooooooooor...

Some entrepreneurs could see how much money Disney is making in Anaheim and build competing entertainment, thereby drawing guests away from Disneyland, forcing Disney to lower prices to get them back.

I don't think so...Usually even CM's who sell tickets don't know about price increases until the very day the change takes effect - Someone swoops in after the park closes, changes all the signs on the booths, changes out all the brochures listing block out days and prices, changes the little "cheat sheets" that CM's use for prices and - Bam!!!! - Training starts at 6am the next morning.

I've been predicting a price increase just after Spring Break.

Isn't it usually Jan or Aug when it happens?

    Edit:

Looking at the price increase chart on p1
Looks like Jan, a few times in March and then Aug or Sept.
Looks like we had a Nov one time.

    Or...

    1-Day Lift Ticket, Mammoth - $96
1 Nosebleed Seat, San Diego Chargers - $85
1 End Zone Midlevel Seat, San Diego Chargers - $109
1 10 Yard Line Seat, San Diego Chargers - $255
Outer Ring Parking @ Qualcomm Stadium San Diego - $25
Inner Ring Parking @ Qualcomm Stadium San Diego - $75
1 Side Terrace Seat, LA Philharmonic @ Walt Disney Concert Hall - $170
1 Lower Orchestra Seat, LA Philharmomic @ Walt Disney Concert Hall - $315

So as a precaution I went ahead and purchased my tickets for our September trip just today. Gotta love the ability to buy them on-line and with a favourable exchange rate to boot.

And then you look at prices for competing theme parks, water parks, consider having fun at locations without admission prices (eg, your local park) or even just staying home...Just because there are other things out there more expensive than Disneyland doesn't mean that Disneyland should continue to up its prices. Not saying that it can't, however.

Though Disneyland is lower than some things (not many)
I do agree that ticket prices need to slow down.
We've had an increase basically every year (some years, twice).
Now if the ticket increase went to paying CM's more than what they are paid now (less than $9) per hour
Then I'd be ok w/ the ticket increase.

The only Cast Members that make less that $9.00 an hour are in tipped positions.

The lowest start rate for ANY DLR position is $9.05 an hour ($1.05 over minimum wage)

I believe the higher one day tickets leads to more guests going to the park for multiple days. Like the AP these guests pay less the longer the stay but buy food, treats, and lodging. So this is more money in disney's pocket.
Currently a 3 day park hopper is $224 that is about $75 a day which is more reasonable. As long as they are increasing offerings to entertain guest and the multiple day passes continue to be more reasonable. The one day passes will continue to increase. IMHO
good thing I do not buy 1 day tickets!

What happens if when everyone can afford it, 100 thousand ppl show up, overwhelm the resort, and people waste a day trapped in the madness without getting into the park? Cheaper tickets does not mean more happy people.

Giving away a premium experience will make people value it less, and also impact respect for it.

I would put money on it. The prices will most certainly go up before the end of 2012.
