 | Local teacher awarded Disney Teacher Award that honors creativity and imagination This is pretty cool. Our local high school 's drama teacher , Karin Babbit, received this award from Disney for creating an environment where students and teachers alike "Explore, imagine and engage" in stimulating experiences while learning. Awardees have to not only spark creativity, but also "inspire a joy of learning in their students." I had no idea Disney gave this type of award , but I am so pleased that she got it as she is a great drama teacher and has made a positive difference in so many people's lives. What's also kind of cool is that her dad was a Disney animator...his last name was also Babbitt...I think he worked on Goofy if I recall correctly.
