    Suits On Space Mountain

    Hey everyone,
Ive recently noticed a Cast Member wearing suit at Space Mountain (also adorning a clear-coil earpiece, communications box, and cell phone on his belt). He is typically standing at the end of the que line assigning guests to their seats. Ive seen him many times on Sundays and think its a little odd. I assume he's not the average Cast Member... Anyone know what might be going on?

I know it's just a typo in the thread title, but dang, I thought we were finally getting a Space Hotel!

EDIT: Title fixed, now my comment makes no sense.

No, I saw the title before it was fixed and thought the same thing. Your post makes perfect sense.

And when I read the title I thought it meant that Disney decorated the outside of Space Mountain with a giant blazer, tie, and slacks!

Of course, none of these posts actually answered the question...

I Believe as part of the corporate training, Park Executives and Management I believe are required to spend a few days learning how each of the Parks departments operate. My hunch is this is what you were seeing.

But when they train management, they are required to wear the attraction costume.

    Re: Suits On Space Mountain

It was probably Tommorrowland management fillng in for a few moments in a position that they can actually work without screwing things up. I've seen it happen a few times while working at Space. Usually they'd just stay at Load 2 or unload ... usually if we got busy and if we were low staffed (meaning only the essential areas could be staffed), and the managers didn't have any emergencies or meetings to attend ...they would hop onto one of those positions to help out. I believe this is more common to happen on Space Mountain than anywhere else given the interval ...but it has been five years since I worked there.

Maybe it is for attraction themeing. When they told him to wear a suit, they meant space suit and he took it the wrong way.

He seemed to be a lead with a suit and a name tag on sunday as well, right where they check your lap bar restraints.

    LOL. too funny!!

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about theming, as in, the CM's were going to wear detailed space suits as a replacement for their current costumes. Oh well.
