    Christmas in DCA

Anyone know what Christmas will be like in DCA now that they have Cars Land and BVS?

    Re: Christmas in DCA

Al has said that BVS and CL will get the full Christmas treatment this year and BL sill see its usual decorations maybe plussed slightly. Probably there will be a few new things in the other lands as well. Should be pretty cool.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

    Re: Christmas in DCA

Al Lutz has mentioned that both BVS and Cars Land will get lavish Christmas decoration packages starting this year. He's brought it up in a few of his articles, including his latest articles. Several sources including Lutz have also talked about a full blown Christmas WoC coming in 2012. I also remember him once mentioning that now, since DCA is relaunched, they wanted to really improve holiday decor and offerings (for Halloween and Christmas), celebrate festivals and holidays in the park that hadn't been before, and bring back an old favorite (Food and Wine Festival). Should be great!

    From today...
When Cars Land and Buena Vista Street get lavish Christmas decorations this November, the AP parking nightmare repeats again.

    Ho-Ho-GO!

As if just opening Cars Land this summer wasn’t enough, TDA is also planning its marketing campaign for the new land right through 2013. One way they plan to keep the heat up is by having Cars Land become the first area inside DCA to get the full-tilt decoration package for Christmas.
Early this November, Anaheim’s Resort Enhancement department of top-notch decorators and designers will descend on Cars Land with a lavishly budgeted set of custom Christmas decorations. Each shop, restaurant and ride in Cars Land will be decorated for the holidays, in automotive themed designs unique to the Cars character that inhabits each location.
Christmas is big business for Disneyland, and with the Cars Land Christmas overlay the goal is to help establish DCA’s growing piece of the holiday pie. With a holiday version of World of Color still up Steve Davison’s sleeve, plus a jazzy Christmas décor package for Buena Vista Street, TDA knows it has to spend big on DCA to help spread out Anaheim’s infamous Christmastime crowds. And Cars Land will jump head-first into the holiday season this November.

So exciting! I would love to see DCA get the whole holiday treatment. I hope that they try to be inclusive of other winter holidays as well. I love that my friends of different beliefs can still enjoy the magic of the parks at that time.

    Re: Christmas in DCA

DCA sounds like its going to be amazing for Xmas! Fully decorated BVS and CL plus a full on WOC show sounds great! And I also imagine there will be a few smaller shows like DL will get and a lot of little surprises as well! It would be great if they could deck out a ride just for the holidays like HMH or IASW too! Maybe not this Christmas but next year maybe! TSMM is of course the easy one, but who knows?

Anyway it sounds like there will finally be a better balance between the two parks!

I think it's going into the plaza in front of Elias and Company across the street from the CCT.

The the Storytellers statue? That's kind of a anti-climatic spot :/

Really it's directly behind the Storytellers statue. I think it will work nicely though, it will look very appropriate out in front of the department store of Elias and Co. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember hearing.

Uh no, DCA will have its own tree as it has for years now! And DL will keep its tree in MS. Dont worry its Disney...they can afford two trees!

But yeah thats what I heard as well it will be in front of the Elias building in the park and I think that would be great! And it would be 100 times better than being waaaay out of the way at PP.

Hmmm....Really all this time I go to DLR I never knew DCA had it's own tree.....Probably because I don't visit DCA in Christmas.I will now!

While a lot of this is just rumors, the christmas tree isn't moving across the Esplanade both parks will have thier own.

Some other rumors that float around:
    LMAuA gets a Holiday Overlay
    Osborne Lights in HL
Special ticket Christmas Parties like at the MK
