That's more like a medium cup. While $10 is definitely a little steep, this is a famous brand at theme park prices. Disappointing, but not shocking. Also I wouldn't really expect it to be served in anything but a plastic cup. Can you imagine the insane hassle glass would be with the amount of people that are going to be pouring in there? Really not feasible unless it was a sit down location with serves to handle all the glass.

Actually, those prices are not jacked up for Disneyland. Those are the same prices as our local Ghirardelli fountain and gift shop. The sundaes don't seem like a lot, but just try finishing one! It's pretty difficult. Honestly, they are good for sharing. I'd recommend sharing them.

But yeah, the prices are the same as a normal Ghirardelli outlet. High, but the same. Also, does anyone know who employs these employees inside the outlet? Is it Disney or Ghirardelli?

    The screens are now animated:
The window lights change color and go on and off.
The Cable Car and Prospector are in front of the video screens.
The Cable Car travels back and forth. The Prospector waves his hat.

    1. Service: Excellent. The line moves fast with 6 cashiers, It then took less than two minutes to get my "Strike it Rich" Sundae. This is why I did not have time to take many pictures. You order at a cashier similar to Hungery Bear, she takes your name and tells you which window number to pick up your order.

    2. Value: They take Annual pass discounts, $8.95 = net cost $7.61 with tax. The Sundae is actually pretty large (20oz.?) much more than two large scoops of ice cream. The Fudge and Carmel were warm. Almonds not just on top. Wonderful flavors and the Ice Cream was soft. You will need to skip a meal after eating one.

    3. Safety tip: Do not put the sample carmel chocolate bar in your pocket. It will melt, the package is easy to burst, and you will end up with a chocolate lined pocket.

Free Ghirardelli squares? Sounds like the perfect thing to have while waiting in line or for a show. I am seeing everything about DCA 2.0 unfold and it's so wonderful because these are elements that aren't much individually, but will absolutely blow the competition out of the water when put together.

I now understand why the Sundae could look small to someone.
The menu is not the normal size, but twice that, 11" x 17".

It looks a decent size to me. Had anyone got a full picture of the menu?

Reminder, if you're a D23 member -- you get a discount at the Ghirardelli at DCA.

These are plenty big... they sell the original hot fudge sundaes in these same cups at Giants games... they charge 9.95... more than Disneyland lol. While it would be nice if they could serve these like they do at the sit down fountain in SF (like the pictures in the menu)... it obviously is not feasible for this location.

The display in the background is really cute, lots of animated figures and sounds to go along with it. And it changes depending on when you visit - notice in the photos above it is a starry night, during the day it looks like this

Looks great and yummy. The plastic cups allow people to take sundaes on-the-go so it makes perfect sense. Plus it would be a mess with glass as people would be careless and drop them.
Anyone have a big picture of the full menu so we can see and read all the delicious goodness?

I'm a frequent visitor of the Ghirardelli shop in downtown San Diego and whenever I take friends there they always order something larger than they can handle - their products are very deceiving, mostly because of how rich their chocolate is. While the prices are steep in the SD location, they always seemed fair for the most part. So unless the quality has been skimped on at the DCA location (which, judging from the picture, it doesn't look like it,) I'd say everything lines up. The only complaints on here I agree with so far is the lack of indoor seating. The SD location is our go-to hangout spot for after we see Broadway shows downtown - I was hoping for a similar end of the night kind of mellow hangout in DCA. But I AM looking forward to grabbing a sundae or shake before showings of World of Color. Perfect combo.
