World of Color Enhancements - Glow with the Show

Apparently, some folks are being notified that previews of a special new enhancement to World of Color will happen at the end of June (the 28th through 30th).

Some new "Glow with the Show" Magical Ear Hats will debut soon. The hats dance with the colors of the show.

Sounds interesting. And it's fun that they continue to toy with and enhance this show!

I hope they make it so the hats only work with the show. I don't think we need any more stuff adding unwanted light to the dark rides.

It sounds really cool and i love the idea of it but..
I'm really short and I have enough trouble looking over people when I cant snag a rail spot :\
I always take off my ear hat whenever I watch shows just out of courtesy of the people behind me.

Knowing Disney it will be much more advance, but all I can picture is a "Please turn on your ear hats now" type announcement where it isn't controlled by the show, but times well with it.

this sounds awesome! glad to hear another enhancement done to the show as opposed to another advertisement. I wish they would add some type of lighting to the Captain EO shirt, too!

Ideally, the hats would be in sync with the show, so even if they were turning on and off, they would only be contributing to the effects rather than distracting. Fingers crossed!

that would be awesome if the ear hats had chips in them that automatically turned them off when the show starts! but does anyone have any idea of what the special new enhancement will be? Steve did hint at a Tangled segment on his FB fan page, as I quote:

"We have special plans for Tangled that will include some new effects that we are working on. I love Tangled. It will find its way into WOC in the near future."

Maybe that is the new addition?

So what if you have hats that light up, you can't see your own and they will make it even more difficult to see the show if the people in front of you all have them on...

Hmm, this sounds really similar to what Coldplay does for their concerts. Coldplay gives away glowing wristbands to everyone in the audience, and these wristbands light up during the show. They're called Xylobands. I guess the idea is to make the audience feel like they're part of the show, and create an interactive experience?

But anyways, you can see what I'm talking about here (the Xylobands light up around the 1:15 mark):

Whoa Whoa Whoa...say what you will about the Bugslife Segment (not really funny...or really relevant to the movie even) and Fantasia.......but the Pocahontas segment is pretty Amazing and the music from the music is pretty epic....

I've heard rumors that Aladdin was suppose to go for a Tangled Segment...only time will tell

my uncle works for the company that makes all the light-up and/or glowing souvenirs and novelties for the Disney Parks. I'll ask him if he's got any information he is allowed to reveal and report back!
