I beg to differ. Cast members who deal with him when he visits will tell you that he is rude, and very dismissive of them. His wife and kids are NOT that way. In fact, they often have to appologies for his actions. He makes a HUGE deal about wanting to bypass the "common folk" and not be bothered with regular guests. You would expect that he would be nicer to everybody, especially the cast members, but that is not generally the case.

Mr. Bryant has a well known reputation with front line Attractions Cast Members, plus the valet parking guys over at the Hotel. At his best he keeps to himself, lets his tour guide do all the talking, and occasionally smiles at a pretty Attractions hostess. At his worst, it can be very uncomfortable for all involved.

    Mod Note:

Ok Kiddles.... before this goes down a very wrong path, lets keep on topic and lets all please refrain from making personal judgements about Kobe, his personality or lack thereof. Yes, he's famous and if you are rich and famous it goes with the territory that you are fair game to be talked about but.... lets keep it light and friendly her, before this thread has to end up in the neither world of the litterbox or locked.

He's a huge NBA super star and a mega supporter of Disneyland, 1 person in Cars Land isn't going to hurt anybody.

No, I sat behind him. Surprising that Andrew Bynum let him sit on his shoulders for the entire show. And of course Shaq and Kareem were to their right and left.

I guess this makes up for the show we saw in May behind Violet from the Incredibles, Danny DeVito, Peter Dinklage, and Tom Cruise.

5 rings. That's why. And as far as him not wanting to deal with the "common" folk... do you blame him? He's a sports megastar... in L.A., at a park in the L.A. area. I'm sure he doesn't want to be hounded by autograph seekers and people wanting pictures with him all day when he's out with his family.

I am sorry, but despite all the stories of how Walt would talk to all his cast memebers no matter how seemingly small, a celeb getting preferential treatment is not a new low for Disney and it is certianly not new for the world...

I would much rather have a celeb get perks at Disneyland than the many perks they get with the law.

And no I don't think Kobe is better than any one of you. You guys are micechatters which already makes you better than him!
What do you think press day for Disneyland was? It certainly wasn't for the public--despite all the counterfeit tickets that went out.

This is such a non-issue. Of course he should have been let in. Disney isn't just willy-nilly letting in a celebrity, it clearly is for publicity. Probably has a similar marketing effect of running a TV ad, but just costs less. They let the press in early... is that not fair? Those two girls from Ellen got to go in early last week, is that not fair? Kobe serves the same purpose there as the construction crew, ride operators and imagineers... he is part of Disney trying to create a marketable and financially successful addition to the park.

Please, let's remember Disney is a business!
    Disneyland Wooooh!

I think I remember reading in Mouse Tales that celebrities fought over whose child would be amongst the first to ride the carousel...
