I'm surprised there are rooms still available for CL grand opening

My nephew was able to call the Del Sol on Sunday and get an extra night added for the 14th (they only had the 15th-17th). My BIL was also able to get the weekend at Anaheim Plaza. I was really surprised that there were still rooms available across the street for that weekend. I really thought places would be sold out. Does this surprise anyone else?

I guess the question though is how much are those rooms? Are they the regular rate at that time of year or are they much higher? There are probably rooms in most non-site places but I imagine all the lower rated rooms are gone at this point.

The place I usually stay at, and where I usually get rooms for anywhere from $60-80 a night, is now going for $130 and up. I was considering coming down this summer, but when I saw that, and knowing that its going to be hot and beyond crowded the end of June, I changed my plans. Now I'm thinking the end of September instead. And if the place I usually stay is still outrageously over priced, I'll either push the trip back even later or find a different place to stay.

Between the motels jacking up the prices, Disney jacking up the prices and just over all everything else (gas etc) going up I know for me personally its slowing down my trips to the park.

I'm not sure about the Anaheim Plaza but I want to check. As for the Del Sol, they added the night for $129. At the end of March my step daughter got her room for $121 a night. We got our room back in the fall for $101. Yes it has gone up but not as much as I'd expect it to.

I just found out that they got the Anaheim Plaza for $89 a night. That's a pretty good rate.

We got rooms in July for about 69 bucks....(a little less then 200 with taxes) but rates have jumped up because it's getting closer to summer, I'm not surprised some rooms are still up since I'm sure they have marked the prices up since Disney announced the 15th as opening weekend..they new many people would need a place to stay

I go tmy room at the Clarion for $35 a night! It's a nice place I stayed there for the Expo last year.

My dads friend who works at the gch said they r completely booked that weeknend plus the dlh is booked completely that weekend also
