Cameras at Paid Cars Land AP Preview???

I am going to the Paid AP Preview of Cars Land on the 10th, and the only reason I bought the tickets was to take pictures of it at night.

The other day, Disney's D23 official Twitter tweeted that No cameras will be allowed during the previews.
A few minutes later they tweeted that it was a mistake and cameras would be allowed and standard Disneyland photography rules would apply.

I just called Disney Guest Relations and asked them about cameras being allowed during the previews and was told "Absolutely No Cameras will be allowed during the previews. They are still keeping everything a secret until the opening on the 15th."

Does anyone have accurate information about this???

Like I said, the ONLY reason I paid $75.00 per ticket was to take pictures and they never mentioned that cameras wouldn't be allowed. They also state that there is no refunds whatsoever, so I can't get my money back. I understand it is for charity and all that but if they won't allow cameras, they should have stated that on the site where you paid for it.

No cameras means no cameras and Disney has been very adamant about it with cast members posted making sure guests are not taking pictures.

    No cameras.

D23 is run by people up in Burbank who have no clue how a theme park runs.

If theme park management changes the current NO CAMERAS rules, then you get a bonus. But don't listen to D23 people up in Burbank. D23 is in a shambles anyway; witness the recent Disney Geek scandal and public mess.

The D23 Twitter later posted this:
@DisneyD23: CORRECTION: Photos/video will be allowed at the D23 Cars Land Preview. Standard Disneyland Resort policy relating to photography will apply.
So I think they are allowed.

We were planning to purchase the preview for Sunday so that we can go take pictures/videos, but luckily we did not since we won tickets to the AP Preview on the 11th.

I hope they allow cameras for the preview when we go on Monday.

I tweeted back to D23 that Guest relations said they weren't and asked them what was up but they haven't responded. They do seem pretty out of touch.

I definitely believe that you can take pictures since we actually pay money to get in instead of it being free.

I think you should definitely take it and post the pictures on here because by the time the medias arrive for the celebration party on Wednesday evening, There will be tons of pictures and videos being posted on the internet.

You should take advantage of being the first to post pictures, so more can appreciate your work. By the way, Disney has released more footage of Cars Land, so it's no longer secret. For example, as of today, inside the magic has posted more B-Roll footage of inside Cars Land. So it's no longer secret.

There was a bit of a Twitter debate about this the other night. D23 changed their page after tickets began to be sold to read that photography was not permitted. Then, someone posted word from Disneyland directly that the standard photo policy would be allowed during the preview event. Soon there after D23 removed the newly placed note from their site and posted the correction shown above on twitter. So it looks like photos, video and audio in amateur format will be permitted....I think....

I find it hard to be a secret. If you can combine al of the pictures and videos that Disney has posted, you pretty much have Carsland exposed. Also, others have posted short videos and photos of the previews, so Carsland is no secret.

I was part of that Twitter debate and was so relieved when D23 said it would be allowed. When I called Guest Relations an hour ago to verify, she seemed very confident and without hesitation that cameras would not be allowed. It's this back and forth confusion that has me so frustrated and confused.

I don't think that Disney considers us "Paying" for the event because it all goes to charity.

If anyone wants to call Guest Relations and see what kind of answer they get, the number for Guest Relations is: 714-781-4400

Anybody out there go to the CM previews today? Were cameras allowed?
I actually heard this said by a CM over the loud speakers at Big Thunder in 1995, "Please do not sit on the rocks. You will fall...and you will die."

No, your ticket purchase does not go to charity. As was discussed on a previous thread, the charity "angle" in the Disney web site advert was misleading. Your money is not going to charity, it is going to Disney; you're not donating to charity, you're buying a product from Disney. Separately and unconnected from your ticket purchase, Disney is already making a donation to charity, in a pre-determined amount ($500K), whether anyone buys a ticket or not.

Disney never said "proceeds from ticket sales will go to charity" or "proceeds from the event will go to charity," they said "To celebrate, Disneyland® Resort is donating a total of $500,000 to Children's Hospital Orange County (CHOC) and the Anaheim Community Foundation."

They could not legally claim in their ads that your ticket purchase, or anything they make from the preview, is going to charity -- because it isn't.

The deception to Disney customers is that Disney advertised the event in a way that is likely to make people think their ticket purchase is going to charity, when it is not.

Went today, no cameras allowed. In fact, the Disney photographer took my picture, but I can't get it until the 15th.

    They're serious about this.

I completely understand about no cameras at the CM previews.
Even if they don't want cameras for the Paid AP previews, I can't imagine what kind of headache they will have trying to tell thousands of paying guests that they can't take a picture. I don't envy the CM's that have to deal with that many angry guests.
