If they're serious about improving the entry plaza, they better take that metal sun & send it to the scrap yard. That along with those silly sun reflector towers located on its left & right side.
And the big "california" letters out front have gotta go, go, go, because the park's theme needs to be torpedoed. I say pick 'em up & haul them over to Paul Pressler's house in NoCal.
I'd say it would be a waste to completly remove them, perhaps they can be used elsewhere in the park- if not the entrance, perhaps relocated to add light to Bug's Land or near the PP.Originally Posted by DisW

THE Entryway is reported to be redone first next month. The Plaza would start the reimagineered process right after this summer 06'.
Some people complain about the CA letters. It's common and can be found at Six Flags CA with GOLIATH. And it looks tacky. But I have to disagree. With the CA letters, you can position yourself almost anywhere (except climbing) to get interesting pics. With GOLIATH, it's a couple big walls with a path in the center... It's lacking "mobility" for pics, if you know what I mean.
BTW, can someone lost up weblinks of other places with big letters? For comparision and DCA is the only place I know of that has these big letters.

Huge 3D trees?...Uh...can someone clerify this...maybe post some photos I'm under the impression that all real trees are 3D...maybe thats just teh east coast though...
The trees are made out of foam and fiber glass and covered in texture on a frame of somesort, as opposed to real pine tress which do not thrive AS well here in Southern California and could potientially drop needles and branchs.
My clarification was for the purpose of those who may have gotten the impression that I was suggesting they use 2d cardboard trees...
I just don't know where or how you would plant them unless they create a berm with giant hills of earth that they could plant the threes into but that sounds like a logisitcall nightmare but not out of reach...
But they are tacky. Get rid of them. Send them to the junkyard or, better yet, re-locate them to Michael Eisner's house, wherever that may be.
