To want improvement is ungrateful? The ride has not been upgraded in YEARS......they have a chance too and don't? There Disney....the park is never done is What Walt always said no....not just refurb rides

But they did improve it! New Bobsleds for crying out loud, and they repainted the whole mountain. Added lighting, plussed effects. I would call that an improvement.

I think it's going to be pretty crazy that after all these years, for ONE day Disneyland is just going to be Disneyland again (not the Disneyland Resort, with park hopping to California Adventure). I can only imagine how ridiculously packed it's going to be on June 14. I still say Matterhorn soft opens to distract people from clogging City Hall with complaints of how crowded it is.
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

True. Plus, you only see him for a split second. He doesn't need to be high-tech.

Agreed! I never expected them to replace the animatronics (I specifically remember them saying they were going to be refreshed only!). At most I expected a new snow projection for the lift hill and maybe a few other small upgrades (lighting, smoother ride, ect).

They just DID upgrade the ride!!! New bobsleds, paint job and effects ring a bell? How about the fact that a whole new park has been upgraded across the way and you're complaining about a yeti not being "technically advanced".

imo harold is the greatest animatronic in the whole park. i'm glad that they kept him the way he was (at least that's how it sounds so far of course..)

    Re: Matterhorn walls

Did they address the most important issue with the inside of the mountain? By that I mean, did they repaint the area under the track white? The brown/gray paint job of the old interior always annoyed me. And having the tracks themselves white would be nice too. Other theme parks have colored steel tracks for their coasters, so why can't the Matterhorn's be white? We're supposed to be bobsledding, not street luging, so I'd expect snow or ice underneath us!

Harold has been reliable for over 30 years, His"High-tech" cousin in Orlando only lasted 3 years before breaking and with no fix in sight.

^TDA and TDO are very different groups...Im sure we could get updated AA's (like on Indy) and they will work for years because they know how to maintain the rides and no over work them

He does not need to be jumping around but...some upgrades to make him...more real would be nice

There were people riding it today. Maybe VIP guests that were here for the Carsland opening? I saw lots of people with guest relations escorts and also a few film crews in the park today.
