I'm not a fan of Larry the Cable Guy's act, but I will admit the guy is usually pretty charming. He seemed really unprepared tonight. Almost as if they didn't mention to him that he would have a few lines to say until he was about to get on stage.

I was there today and recorded the opening from the very far right. My other brother was at the Pacific Wharf side recording the fireworks.
The video we recorded is not that great of a shot from that vantage point.

I agree that it was a bit cheesy. Could have been better and more meaningful if the opening speeches had more closely resembled the Cars Land video playing in the Blue Sly Cellar that totally makes me cry. As it was, it was cheesy.
I did feel the earthquake here at work, and I'm a few miles further from Yorba Linda than Anaheim. I thought it would be such a let-down if they had to evacuate the whole park like they did a few years ago. But maybe that would have given Larry the Cable Guy more time to prepare.
I thought that Larry the Cable Guy was going to announce Owen Wilson when he said that Mater and Lightning make the party complete. To see the two cars was rather anti-climatic.
Anyway, looked fun and I would have liked to have been there.
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine, without me my signature is useless, without my signature i am useless!
I thought it was CHEESEY but I liked when bob and Tom where showen as car characters
Many of the old time actors looked to be on their last leg. Kinda sad/scary, but good to see them enjoying their characters immortalized in the park for generations to come. It was a entertaining/cheesy/fun opening ceremony.... but not for A/B listers like owen wilson. Nice little ceremony, not to be confused with the re-opening of the park later.
No mention of Paul Newman.
How disrespectful.
Wow. That was about the worst rendition of "Life is a Highway" I've ever heard.
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".
