    The Old Boblseds

I'm wondering what happened to them? I suspect they're either just languishing backstage, or have already been dumped in a landfill.

How fun would it be to take one off of Disney's hands! I wonder if any might be auctioned off? How cool to set one in a backyard or perhaps inside, in a "game room" or something like that.

I'm sure they will auction at least a few of them. I know a fellow who has a Peoplemover vehicle, skyway car, and Autopia car in his back yard; all bought at auction.

How do you find out about the auctions?

They frequently end up on ebay. I'd LOVE to have one if I hate the money!

I would love one of the original design sleds. Don't know where I'd put it but it would be fantastic to own.

I miss the old sleds already. I rode the re-furbed Matterhorn tonight and noticed the difference the second I sat down. About a 50% loss in leg room.......quite uncomfortable. Knees almost in my face and I've dropped 37 pounds since before the ride went into refurb-mode. Noticed a few of the larger guests having difficulties getting in and out of the things.

    Not a fan.

Ugh! This confirms my fears when I first saw the new sleds. My first thought was, "they look like they're for a 'kiddie-coaster'". Bad move, Disney! I loved the leg room in the old sleds. I'm really surprised they've made the seating smaller instead of larger. Didn't they just re-do the Small World boats in order to accomodate today's larger rider?

I don't buy the whole "single-seating/increased capacity-from-filling-every-seat" theory, anyway. The Matterhorn will always have a considerable wait. I'd much rather spend some extra minutes in line in order to more fully enjoy the ride.

Hopefully, they'll realize the mistake and bring back at least some of the old sleds to accomodate those of us over 5 feet tall!

Just a rumor, but it has to do with aesthetics for the up-coming movie based on the ride... (the movie is not a rumor, it is an actual project... the sled change for the movie, now that is a rumor... so get out your grains of salt!)
