Re: Radiator Springs Racers breaking down too often?

I went 10/26, Friday. My first time on RSR. It broke down when I was in the middle of the dark portion. I would guess we were there 10 minutes. The tractors weren't tipping.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.

I actually don't know Test Track's history and so I don't know how much it broke down on opening. However, if I was in charge, and TT did break down all the time - then I'd be darned sure RSR was tuned perfectly before opening it, lest I repeat the same mistakes. It goes back to the earlier argument: Disney has been doing this for almost 60 years, they should know how to test an attraction and open it with minimal issues.

Any guesses why the lines are long? Think it has to do with too many people returning with FastPasses or Re-Ads because the ride breaks down all the time?

The lines are long because of all the advertising and word-of-mouth, and because it's a great attraction. There are enough guests who think it's worth waiting 1-2 hours for it......it's that simple.

Personally, I try to not judge too quickly until I know exactly why a given attraction is going down. At most attractions, downtimes are usually not the result of the attraction "breaking"......they're the result of the system and/or CM's doing what they're supposed to do in a potentially dangerous situation. The question is how to prevent those situations in the first place, and how to fine-tune the equipment so that it doesn't overreact to situations that aren't dangerous.

Re: Radiator Springs Racers breaking down too often?

I went on Sunday, October 14th. We went over there at 9:30 am and it was down. We did the rest of Cars Land & Hollywood Backlot. Returned around noon and it was down down. Finished the park, went to Disneyland, went on about 6 rides, came back at 4 pm, down. Went and ate at DTD, came back to see if RSR was up and running around 6:30. We never got to ride it that day.

I can't complain, because we've been on it about 5 times beforehand - but every day, it had broken down in the morning and we got lucky by showing up at the right time. My mom's a cancer patient and uses a Guest Assistance Pass for the rides, and every time a CM has given us an initial return time, it's been closed upon return.

I will give it time, because this ride is amazing and truly unlike anything I've ever been on.

For all the action on this thread today, I figured it was because it didn't open until noon today. It was a planned closure not a break down.

From the FB page, DCA Today, posted at about 10:45 AM.
Due to planned work at Radiator Springs Racers, the attraction will be opened at noon today. This will not affect FASTPASS distribution.

When the park is closed I'd sure like to see how many CM's they have working on this attraction, must be a mad house.

With all those CMs working for all these months, funny how Disney still can't get it right.
