Better comparison would be Vegas is adults DCA 1.0. Full of cheesy uninteresting (or down right offensive!) things. Both have a few actually interesting or memorable parts. Both are filled with fine dining and expensive souvenirs to buy. Neither has anything that appeals to families or children. Both leave guests with a feeling that they had somehow been robbed by the establishment. Both are pretty dull unless you indulge in drinking. And both have random uninspiring themes that leave a lot to be desired.
Yep I think Las Vegas is the adult version of DCA 1.0.
My SO calls our local Doggie Park, Disneyland for Molly (our dog's name)... so yeah, I can see how the OP's phrase would be rather "off" for us DL fans. I dunno about anyone else, but I have never had to pick up poop at DLR!!!
BTW, I live in Vegas! lol.

This is strictly prohibited.
The company the "Ad Flickers" are employed by will received stiff fines...
The "Ad Flickers" themselves can receive jail time...
If your child ends up with one of these ads, it is b/c he/she picked one off the ground while a parent was not looking, not b/c it was handed to them. And why would they hand one to a minor? It would just be a waste since the kid is not going to get into the establishment.
After all this commentary on my part defending the "Ad Flickers", in the end, I do feel that Vegas should not be a place for kids. I just saw several kids (toddlers to teens) walking thru a casino tonight from 11pm to 3am with their parents. I just shake my head. I don't get it. There is nothing for them at this casino except restaurants and dragging your kid thru a casino to eat in the middle of the night is pointless IMO.
I've never been to Vegas, nor do I have any desire to visit other than to see some of the Cirque shows, so I can't really comment on the comparison but based on what I've heard and read, I'd say it's way off base!
I'd much rather plan a trip to Disney over Vegas (or pretty much any other destination) any day.
I highly advise the OP to NOT see the movie Casino. Towards the end Robert De Niro says, referring to what became of Las Vegas, "Then the corporations moved in and turned the place into Disneyland."
I want to watch this again, now. Great movie. Classic Joe Pesci.

Without all the facts, it is hard to make an accurate judgment. This family could have just gotten off the road after leaving late to beat the traffic. They may have expected their kids to remain asleep after checking in. Instead, the kids woke up and were hungry. It is easier to get kids to sleep if they have a full stomach, so maybe they were bringing them down to eat something before bed.
"Greetings, Starfighter! You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada."
To me, Las Vegas is just a giant machine designed to suck all the money out of you, and the longer you stay there the more money you lose. Yes, there are pretty lights and colors and sounds and flashy things to look at, but the real purpose of the place is to get your money. Oh... well then I guess it is like Disneyland.

We did that. Well, not the middle of the night, but in the afternoon. We went to Vegas. Spent most of the days away from the Strip. But we wanted to see some of the free fountain shows and the Venetian. To park anywhere near the Strip and walk in, you have to walk through the Casinos. Our hotel had a free shuttle to the strip (Harrah's). But it drops you off in back of the Casino. The only way we knew to get to the Venetian is through the casino. We missed the volcano at the Mirage because we were there in the afternoon and not at night... BTW, my 14 year old loved the Venetian.
For you with young kids, my younger boys loved Sky Zone, an indoor trampoline park about 7 miles from the strip.
