    Lightbulb Disneyland Resort Water Park?

I'm sure this may have been brought up before in previous post, but please don't crucify me for suggesting this...

California has some of the best weather, with more sunny days that Florida. So why would Disney not consider adding a water park to the resort just as they have in Florida? I understand that water parks are a dime a dozen here in SoCal but none have the charm as those out at WDW. They could easily build a modest park on the Simba lot and add shuttle service from the M&F structure or TS lot. Any thoughts?

FYI... The link below was in the news awhile back, but Garden Grove (which borders Anaheim) is planning on building a pretty big water park/resort complex about a mile south of DLR on Harbor Blvd.

Not sure if this will affect any Disney plans, but it's interesting...

It was supposed to break ground this year in 2012... haven't seen anything, yet.

The locals seem to have no interest...

    reasons given include
'sunny, but not that hot' = short season
    local competition...
    competition with the beach itself...

I think the main reason is simply the weather isn't warm enough long enough during the year.

I hope they don't. I can't see hwo they can do this without looking cheap or selling out. And I would much rather have any money spent enhancing the 2 parks then building a water slide. And liek the thread creator pointed out... there are many around... and from what I know not entirely successful. And they wouldn't be able to charge a "disney price" for one either.
