    That should be Tomorrowland.

Not just the North/East quadrant of the land ... but the whole kit-and-caboodle.

After all ... TL:98 was his project.

His final project .. should be to fix the one that was not properly redone - 14 years ago.

Because I enjoy irony, I hope they put him on the Western River Expedition in the Big Thunder Ranch area.

I hope not. He's basically ruined Tomorrowland for over a decade now and he's turned into a glorified yes-man.

I'd say he'll tackle Frontierland, since Thunder Mountain inhabits that area. It would be nice if he could design an extension of Thunder Mountain train route over to the ROA area.

Re: Tony Baxter's New Project for Disneyland

So the gf and I went to the DLR for the opening of Cars Land, and stayed through the whole weekend.

One of the days while we were walking through CL, my gf tapped my arm and said, "Hey, isn't that Tony Baxter"?
I said, "Oh man, it is! I'm going to see if I can get a picture with him"

The first words out of his mouth were "I had nothing to do with this" Later I realised he just didn't want to seem like he was taking credit for the project, being that he is kind of a "celebrity Imagineer"

I asked him what he thought about CL, and said it looked great and that they did an amazing job, and that he was just walking around enjoying it just like we were, and buying souvenirs.

I jokingly asked him, "So are you ever going to be allowed to fix Frontierland or Tomorrowland?
To which he replied "As a matter of fact, we've got some big plans for Frontierland that are depending on the success of an upcoming movie, and I'll just leave it at that"

I said, "Wow, very interesting" I thanked him for is time and we went on our way.

I don't know what that meant, but it was definitely interesting.

Build a mountain range on the edge of DL to recreate a canyon scene from Lone Ranger.

That's the first thing I thought when he said that, the next was to ask, ok, why the hell does everything have to be based on a move?! but I didn't

Re: Tony Baxter's New Project for Disneyland

^^Doppio Well I just watched Wiz (well I watched the Michael Jackson scenes) on Netflix a minute ago just to show my brothers how awful it is and hated every other movie from Oz. The last Oz movie Disney made was a turd and a half so no I highly doubt it. I have heard from multiple sources that Oz is just a rumor not based in fact. I have however, heard the rumors about a Lone Ranger ride, which is, after all, Disney's attempt at a Pirates of the Caribbean franchise for Cowboys and Indians.

Disney has (and should have) much higher expectations for the Lone Ranger than they do for Oz the Great and Powerful. My prediction is that Oz the Great and Powerful will make a moderate profit but by no means be a blockbuster hit. Lone Ranger, on the other hand, has the potential to do pirates numbers if Johnny Depp fans turn out in droves like the usually do. I think the idea that Disney would plan a whole new land (it would be a very small land if they did build it) based on a movie franchise that has never been that big of a hit for Disney. It seems more likely that they would base it off a franchise that fits the current theme of the area and is based on a film that Disney hopes creates a huge franchise.
