you guys are all wrong... its gotta be brave. The transition from Frontierland to a Scottish highland themed area would be pretty easy to pull off... although the water bill could be expensive with the rain required to recreate Scotland!

Re: Tony Baxter's New Project for Disneyland

If what Tony said is true, it is sad that in order for an attraction to be green lit the movie it is based on needs to do well. Disneyland is not a movie themed park

How about you create an attraction that is new and original and then tie in the characters from the movie into the area. I'm pretty sure a western themed area like Western River would fit with the Lone Ranger character walking around.

Again the question that should always be asked to Imagineers when you meet them is...When will Disneyland get an attraction that is not based on a movie?
I am guessing the true answer would be "When corporate allows us"

I really hope they do not use the Lone Ranger as a theme for a ride or section of Frontierland. It does not inspire me as somethign you can make a "ride" out of. I suppose it will depend on the plot of the movie , if they have some sort of big set piece with a ride on a raging river through a canyon of something of that sort or a runaway train. I suppose with the ru,or that Big Thunder Mountain may go down fo 12-24 motnhs they could rethem that... or tear it down and build something a bit more thrilling...like a copy of the Grizzly gulch coaster themed to the Lone Ranger. I am trying to use my imagination but the Ranger does not thrill me at all.

^^Do you even know what the lone ranger is even about?

The lone ranger could easily be made into a WRE-type ride, which is what I'm hoping for.

Bingo! It wouldn't be a Fantasyland dark ride people! If the patent Disney recently filed are any indication of things to come, WRE (aka Pirates for Cowboys and Indians) would be very similar to the Jack Sparrow animatronics they added to Pirates. I highly doubt they would make the ride 100% copy of the movie in plot, more an experience ride like Pirates and mansion with a few Tonto and Lone Ranger animatronics thrown into the setting. I don't see how anyone could hate the possibility of a Lone Ranger ride if it brought in elements from WRE! (aka the biggest and most elaborate ride WDI ever designed for any theme park!)

I think it would be cool to see ANY kind of ride (preferably WRE) in the corner of Frontierland using the EMV-boats planned for the Pirates of the Caribbean in Shanghai, but I don't think anything will happen in Frontierland until after the rumored Tomorrowland project.

Am I te only person not interested in seeing today's Disney try and build Western River Expedition? This would not be Marc Davis' baby.
