Hey everyone!
My family and I will be heading to the resort Sunday. We are all passholders, but didn't even think about registering for the AP Early Entry.
Now we are worried that the early entry people will snatch up all the Fastpasses to RSR before the general public even gets in. Or maybe if they open the machines at 8, it will still be near impossible because APers likely will be lining up for the Fastpasses too.
Can anybody who has experience with this issue shed some light?

They don't open the fastpass machines until 8, however, there will already be a very long line. If you mob it, you might be able to get a fastpass good for after 4:00.

Maybe they should have made a fastpass line OUTSIDE the gates, and then the GP could start lining up for fastpasses while APers are inside. When APers are done experiencing early entry Cars Land and want a fastpass for later, they leave the park and get in the fastpass line with the GP. I mean, the early admission thing is a great perk for annual passholders, but I think there's an issue at hand when these perks come at the expense of opportunities and services that the GP are also paying for.
By 7:00 there was already a substantial wait for those waiting for the 8:00 opening.
The line was 2-4 hrs by opening. Then again, the absurdly long standby and fastpass line may have been because the ride didn't open until 8:15. Just prepare for the worst.

Backup plan: single rider line
Lot's of assumption and Doomsday here. We were at DCA on 6/24 (actually predicted to be "Doomsday") and it wasn't so bad. We got at the entrance at 7am (we didn't have Early Entry) and were let in the Park at 7:30am. People began to line up in the FP line (there were already the EE people in line). At 8am, FP began to be distributed and we got ours for 11:45am-12:45pm return window.
My advice, once everyone is through the gates, give all passes to one person. That person goes to the FP line as directed by the CMs. The rest of the party enjoy BVS until ropedrop.

I'm hoping it won't be too bad tomorrow. Half the passes are blacked out also, so hopefully that will mean the crowds will be a little lighter.

Hi, I went this past Tues June 26 with a friend. We got to the resort around 715am, and lined up in front of DCA gates at 730, there was already a small crowd lined up .
Like TImicus said, they open the gates early so people can q up for FPs for RSR. FP distribution started at 8 am, our return was for 1pm. When we passed by the FP distribution around 910am, all FPs were gone....I felt bad for people who didnt snag any.
The line for RSR held steady around 3 hrs all day, single rider was about 50 min. We waited about 15 min tops with our FPs.
The ride is amazing, and theres so much to enjoy about it. I hope you have a great trip!
