I'm glad this idea is being tossed around. Frontierland has always lacked something for me personally, and this ride sounds like it could be great if it takes cues from the immersive environment of Cars Land.

How would it be diffrent from the rapids ride at DCA, It sounds atleast in name a lot like rivers of America which would be its' neighbor or would it be intergrated into that some how?

If you want to trust Jim Hill, he has mentioned on Magical Definition that there are plans for a Wizard of OZ land in the frontier land expansion in Disneyland based on the upcoming Disney Movie OZ the great and Powerful

It could be OZ i just don't seem them developing a property like that. Lone ranger makes much more sence.
In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is more meaningful than our criticism designating it so.

"You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer."
I agree the wetern river expedition to me seems a lot like Rivers of America. Tell me were I am wrong. It also seems like one too many water rides too close to each other. Rivers of Ameriac and Spash Mountain all in the same area.
I haven't heard any feed back wondering if any one else would like to see the keel boats return to rivers of america?
Dave
I agree. Walt Disney himself used a reoccurring staple of stars. Haley Mills, Annette, Fred MacMurray, Dean Jones, Ed Wynn - I could go on and on. After Walt this continued. This has been a norm with the Disney organization since the beginning. I take no issue with that when it comes to films. Basing everything new in the parks on a film is another story...

WRE is not at all the same as Rivers of America. WRE is an indoor ride, and has scenic elements that could never be achieved in the outdoors. And also, I would LOVE to have the keelboats back

Basing stuff on films doesn't bother me as i've already stated in great length, but what would actually bother me is the reuse of a Depp modle in a new attraction. If there's already one in Pirates i don't want to see another one somewhere else, but that's a minor squable.

Then let take one out either Big Thunder or Matterhorn because they are both rock mountains and both use steal tracks, in the northern part of the park, and have some type of animals in them.Won't happen. What ever water ride they plan on building, the only things that will be similar to other water rides are you may get wet and it is in water. Every thing else can be different. Different layout, ride system, style of rock work/ exterior, show scenes, number of lifts and falls ,amount of wetness, ride story, characters, etc. This also apply to all the other water rides to each other.
WRE is not like the River of America. Not even close. It is more similar to Pirates of the Caribbean but it still had different theme and other stuff. I think there is a video on here about the WRE.
I would like the keel boats to return but they need to be build so they can't flip over. I think they should be use as transportation form CC to Big Thunder area.
Murphy, with that neck, is like E.T. in dragon form
I agree I think if they just build them wider it shouldn't be a problem, and just seeing them in the river again would really add to the experience. Plus they can't be that expensive to operate and maintain.
Also is there enough room for a major attraction like wetern river expedition? It seems like that would take up a lot of space.
