    Re: Rose Parade Float Revealed

I agree DLR's Sleeping Beauty Castle looks better than WDW's Cinderella castle. When I first saw WDW's castle in 2002, I thought how odd that it looked like someone made it wider and stretched its top as long as they could make it. It also looked cold and unwelcoming. DLR's castle looks warm and welcoming to me. That's my opinion. Goes to show size doesn't always matter.

I would love to see it up close along with the TMB, but I am not sure I want to drive out there and fight the crowds. I can't WAIT to see this float

I just got back from FLOAT DECORATING!!!!
I decorated the AAA float. A staff member told me about Disney's float. I'm not allowed to disclose any info but believe me, its gonna be awsome.

I belive the Disney fload is the 48th entry in the parade lineup. My guess is they're about half-way through the parade. I decorated La Canada Flintridge's float (my 7th time doing so) and it's really cute. With the theme of "It's Magic"...it'll be interesting to see what comes up.

Does anyone know if the Entertainment Department is producing any special ceremony or show like those presented in years past.

I liked last year's ceremony, although it was a bit short. And, the 35 Years of Magic presentation was excellent.

Does anyone also know if the float is going to feature the patented Disneyland Rose?

Come on guys, WDW's castle isn't bad. You're just not used to it that's all. I felt a similar thing when I first saw DL's castle after being so used to WDW's castle. It felt WAY too small. But it still was welcoming. All of the castles at all of the parks are beautiful and welcoming in their own ways.

    Disneyland float wins craftsman award

This is probably going to be a double post, but what the heck.

Did you all just see the float with the fireworks, etc?

    VERY COOL!

And the float won the Craftsman award!

It's POURING here in Southern California, but the parade seems to be going on without a hitch. I was very impressed with the Disneyland float, and the fireworks put it over the top. With the gale that we're getting now in Orange County, they were lucky to get the fireworks off before the big winds hit Pasadena.

Crowds should be a bit lower in the park today. It's 9:30 am, and it's coming down in SHEETS!

(Feel free to merge this, if you need to.)

Disney's float was HUGE and it had PYRO!

I liked it (and they even had umbrellas!) so cute. Good job Disney!

I just saw it!! I loved the fireworks. My husband and I were geeking out watching the face characters. We were yelling "I've met that Alice" and "There's our favorite Cinderella"!! I just wish it wasnt raining cuz the TV camera's were making the view very blotchy.

I think that the rain made the fireworks look even more spectacular. The dark sky was a great backdrop to the bright flashes. You are right, it came off perfectly.

It was sad to see the characters with umbrellas, but it was necessary. It is raining very heavily.
