Disneyana Convention July 19 - 22 Lots To See and Do

    Howdy folks,

Fishy and I are planning to attend the Disneyana show and sale on the 22nd. I couldn't help but notice all the fantastic events that the Disneyana fan club has planned for this year.

    • Would you like to hear Walt Disney's granddaughter talk or see Glen Keane (legendary animator of so many beloved characters like the Beast) and Roger Broggie (Imagineer extraordinaire) honored at the DFC Legend Luncheon???
    • What about being a guest at a table hosted by celebrities like Bill Farmer (Goofy), Margaret Tinker Bell Kerry, Susan Egan (Belle on Broaday and Meg in Hercules), Dick Jones (the original Pinocchio) and many others at the DFC-Ryman Arts Goofys Anniversay Party.
    • There will be an Authors Panel with Dave Smith (retired Director of the Walt Disney Archives) with Jack Lindquist (first president of Disneyland) and Sam Gennawey (MiceChat writer, Urban Planner, and Disney historian) to name a few on the panel.
    • And there is the Sunday Show and Sale open to the public....with booths from Mickeys of Glendale, the Disney Studio Store and The Disney Soda Fountain. Paige O'Hara (Belle), Margaret Tinker Bell Kerry, Mark Silverman (Tower of Terror) and Carolyn Carroll will be there for autographs, along with all the wonderful booths filled with tempting Disney items. July 19-22 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Garden Grove/Anahim.

All activities on the 19th through 21st are restricted to members only except for the pre event at Aladdin's Oasis, honoring John Musker and Ron Clements as DFC Legends. Registration required. The Sunday Show and Sale is open to the public.

Wish I could go this year. The past 2 years were so much fun! All the panels sound really intersting. (I also loved running room to room at the Hotel looking at the collectibles!)

Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!

Thanks, Dusty! I've attended this three times in the past and really liked it!
There is usually a great collection of old Disney postcards sold by one of those who helped create the great Nickel Tour book. (If you're lucky you might be able to get a copy.) And at this event I've spoken with other authors of Disney books
including David Koenig who have tables where they autograph their books and chat with fellow Disney fans. If you like to collect Disney stuff, or just be around people who are even more into Disney than you are, don't miss this

Thought I would share a pic from our first Disneyana Convention. This shows why I'll miss being there. You meet the nicest fans!

Thanks for the mention of the DFC convention. This year marks my 20th year as a member of the Disneyana Fan Club (formerly named NFFC)! I've been to most of the conventions in those 20 years and have many wonderful memories of talks by Disney legends, many of whom are now gone, as well as lots of other great guests. My closest friends are people that I've met in the club.

I went on Sunday when it was open to the public. I'm definitely planning to get a ticket for February. Except for first two at the top, I picked up all these at the convention.

This is the one that really made my day!
