What did you think of the Disneyland(s) float?

I thought it was the best looking float in the parade. The little show they did was great. At frist, I figured the float wouldn't have fireworks because it was raining, so I was suprised to see they were shooting it off. A lot of the floats in the parade seemed small and really rinky-dink. Disney's was very grand and I thought the castles were beautiful. Poor Sleeping Beauty Castle had gotten a little watered down, but it still was beautiful. Excellent job!

...and aside from Bob's dumb comments about the costume thing, I thought how they were complementing and congragulating the "Disney corporation" was very nice. I also enjoyed how the one lady(forgot her name) was oooohing and aaahing.

I thought it was GREAT!! My question when I watched was this -- was the guy singing the new song the same one who plays Aladdin in the show at DCA? He looked and sounded VERY familiar and that was the thought that originally came to mind when I heard him singing.

Re: What did you think of the Disneyland(s) float?

For me it was the highlight of the parade. First time in years that I watched the entire thing and it was because of the rain which made it look so different and I was fascinated with how the camera crews, specatators and participants dealt with the foul weather.

Of course, it was the very beginning of a very long trek so who knows how Jasmine and Quasimodo looked or performed by the end of the 5 mile walk. It was fun to see them all under the clear umbrellas.

Costuming must have a job ahead of them with the dirt and damp that must have saturated everything!

I looked for the number of the sequence in the Parade, only one I wanted to see....number 47. Was fantastic...made me proud to be a Disney Fanantic! Does anyone know if it's coming down to the Park like last years did? Would love to see it in person....and no way I'm going to Pasadena tomorrow to see it, if that's where it's staying. Back to work.....Wolfette back to school.

Last year Disney had an abstract of the DLR Sleeping Beauty Castle. Which did not go to DLR. 2 years ago, was the TOT float that went to DCA.

Personally, I'd rather them keep it in Pasadena to promote down there than in Anaheim. But then again, you get more variety of vistors at DLR. If they do put it in DLR, better be in the Entry Plaza.

And to see the floats in Pasadena, my dad says it's $5 to park and $7 to see the floats...

    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Re: What did you think of the Disneyland(s) float?

Victoria and I went to see the floats after the parade last year. (or was it the year before... I dunno. I gettin' old!) It's worth every penny of the cost. It's difficult to get a sense of their grand size and scale on TV. These things are HUGE! The floral work is amazing. Another fun part is that most of the animated ones continue to operate. Remember the float with the Valkaries and the horses galloping up to the air? To stand there and watch those horses gallop while the float played "Flight Of The Valkaries" was simply awesome.

    Anyway...

I'll admit, when the Disney float first rounded the corner, I was a little unimpressed. It looked a little flat. Some small castles and a big one at the back. But as it got closer and I got a better sense of its true size, my opinion changed. That was one BIG float. Of course, the magic moment was when the pyro went off. That was a major "OH YEAH!" moment.

    Disney did good!
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

When I went to see the Floats last time in Pasadena, I thought they looked quite small compared to the Television perspective. But I guess that is how we all see things differently.....?

Re: What did you think of the Disneyland(s) float?

It was hard to really see the float from the footage I saw (both ABC and NBC). Neither station's camera guys seemed to have the sense to wipe the raindrops off the camera lenses so everything was blurry the whole parade. I was NOT happy.
