1980's Disneyland Hotel Holiday Cards

I got the following from a long time (40 years) Wrather/Disney executive. These holiday cards were printed in very small volumes and sent to special recipients. They were designed by talented graphic artist David Riley who worked for Wrather. The cards were themed to reflect a new feature at the Disneyland Hotel for that given year. First up is 1982 and is the only one which features graphics inside and out. To me, these cards are very special and showed the magical touch the Hotel had under Wrather.....no knock on present ownership as I just love most of the wonderful things Disney is doing with the Hotel these days. Hope you enjoy these very rare and unique artifacts.

This 1982 Holiday Card featured the (then under construction) newly expanded convention center which opened in 1983.

By the way, these cards were only created and used from 1982 until 1987. My friend tells me that when Disney bought Wrather in late 1988, they had one combined Holiday Card for Disneyland and the Disneyland Hotel and were not as visually appealing.

1984 displayed the upcoming celebration of the Hotel's 30th anniversary for 1985.

Sadly, this card was released just as Disneyland Hotel founder and visionary Jack Wrather passed away in November of 1984.

1985 features the remodeled Japanese Garden Rooms in the original block of rooms (from 1955) at the Disneyland Hotel. I have some other photographs and artifacts regarding this which I will post later in this thread.
