Disney Pins I'm looking for
Since nobody ever responded to my post in the pin trading section, just wondering if any of you are planning on going to the Disneyana thing today, and if yes, would any of you be able to pick up a Tower of Terror, Radiator Springs Racers, and/or Ariel's Undersea Adventure pins pictured in the other forum. If you can help me out please send me a PM ASAP!! I work 12-5 and will be going to TDKR with my brother and dad after work

Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
so I never heard back from ANYONE
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
I was at the Disneyana Show today and I never saw them. They must have sold out when the doors opened. They're asking $500 for the complete sets on eBay.
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
and I wouldn't even want more then just 1-3 pins, no need for complete set, and $500 for it is WAY too much

thats like a $300 profit for the person selling them
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
Individually they're around $40 on eBay right now
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
I would wait. I have a feeling the prices will come down on these.
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
I don't get why people would go to the Disneyana event, knowing they can only buy 1 of each, just to put them on ebay at a HUGE mark-up. Stiker price is $12.95, put it on for that plus a couple bucks for shipping, and see how much you can get, I doubt most of us (99%) would pay $40 for 1 pin
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
Why would anyone go to a Disneyana convention to resell it for retail price? These are collectible, and obviously there is a market for them.
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
I guess my point is, why buy something only to resell it, you can't get 2 sets to keep 1 for yourself. Maybe I feel this way because I have to work my *** off in order to afford a trip to DL so everything I buy, I actually think about how much I really want it, not how much it is worth to everyone else. I would never pay more then retail price for anything like that. But I'm also the person that keeps any and all free things I get from the Disney Store or the Park because I got up early to get it. they only give 1 per guest, so why waste my time to get one, only to re-sell it later?
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
Because you can make loads of money. xD
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
but that means you don't get to have one yourself... thats my point. I only buy things I want, and if I bought it, I would only sell it if I was flat out broke and needed instant cash

A lot of people don't think this way unfortunately. Also keep in mind people will travel in twos to buy one set for themselves and one set to trade/sell.
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
I guess I'm also coming from the retail side where we don't let a family have more then 1 of the free gift w/ purchase promo items. If we recognize you, saw you come in together, you will only get 1 item, and we are very strict to that where I work. even if you spend double what oyu need, you will only get 1

plus, the way we see it, for ever adult that gets 2 of it, that means a whole family has to miss out
Re: Disney Pins I'm looking for
Well, it's a very easy turnaround sale. I mean, if you walked into an event and saw something you were completely uninterested in but knew you could turn around and make a bundle, would you buy it? Like, say you walked in and you could buy a set of smelly used shoes for $100, and then a few hours later post them on ebay and get $500 for them, wouldn't you at least consider buying them even if you have no interest in smelly old shoes? So what if you don't get a set for yourself--you don't really want them anyway, but $500 is a nice thing to have. Many people buy pins as an investment, not as a personal collectible.
