Re: Radiator Spings Racers Effects Watch Thread

    Hi there!

I agree with the original post. I think it's a great thread to start, because it will be interesting to see the how Disney will maintain a brand new attraction. I also think it's reasonable for the person posting to feel disappointed if any elements are not functioning properly because they were designed to be there for a purpose: to tell the story and entertain. In any case, they were all the intention of the artists who created the attraction.

    :-)

RSR is looking great! All the effects people were worried about are back working just fine! I visited Cars Land today and the tractors have been repaired. Luigi's whitewall tire scene has also been fixed. The only thing I noticed not functioning were the misters by the camera for your on-ride photo. Not a big deal but thought I'd like to mention it.

Just an update, the misters have been cut for visibility purposes. The mist was fogging up the windshields and the camera, making for foggy on-ride pictures.

Signed the Fiance' and her folks in to DCA today. We waited through Standby for 1 hour and 54 minutes (posted wait time of "120 Minutes"). I hadn't been on the ride since Cast Previews.

The ride looked fantastic, and all of the animatronics worked flawlessly; the two tractors tipped and their little wheels flailed about and the kid next to me thought that was hilarious.

Onboard audio was perfectly clear, lighting and projections were spot on, the entire attraction looked SO REALISTIC AND GORGEOUS in the August sunshine, the CM's were all polite and sharp looking, and the Guests walking out the exit with us were raving and laughing and raving more. YMMV.

the fact of the matter is RSR has roughly 10 guys dedicated just to it, and for the last few months they have been really focused on making sure the ride functions not just the effects. Now that most of the cars are rebuilt operating properly they are focusing on the effects. its typically what happens when there is a new attraction as large as RSR is.

I would just like to say I rode it on August 20th, and everything was in tip top shape. All the AA's were working, the tractors were tipping, the nozzles and screen in Ramone's was working, and we raced another car.

Way cool attraction and kudos to the team who's keeping it running. And boo to everyone else who says that this is a bad thread.

I was in DCA from 25th - 30th August, I only know of one time that RSR was down. I rode 5 times during my visit and all effects were working

I was a little disappointed when I went in August, and the tractors didn't tip.I was thinking,'It hasn't even been 2 months, and they aren't working?'

Even the paint effect in the mirror at Ramone's didn't seem to be working (at least at Luigi's we got our white walls).

One has to wonder if word was Lasseter was coming, if they'd quickly scramble to make things operational again. I'm sure John would say that non-tipping tractors was inexcusable for ride quality.

As of Oct 21-24 here is what I noticed:
    - tractors don't tip
    - Mack's mouth doesn't move
    - The mirros inside Ramone's paint shop don't show your car changing color.
    - When racing, Doc will still say you won when you didn't.

I didn't have a chance to read thru all the posts. But I went on this ride during private previews and the mini tractors were driving over the hills just before the sheriff comes out. I've since been on it several time since and they've yet to be working ever... Any one else realize this?
