The line seems MUCH longer when FP is being used on it, and the ride does not seem to be hurting in anyway for riders!
Well at least with the Dual Stations for BTMRR it always seems to be moving. After doing a bit of google searching, the internet gives me the same hourly capacity for both BTMRR and California Screamin', at 2400 pph.

So BTMRR is a 3:12 ride, with 4 trains on the track at once (I believe), with 45 people per train. So 4 trains cycling at apporx. 1:36 between trains that is 45 every 1:36, which per hour would be 1688. There needs to be more information about dispatch times to get a better estimate, I have no idea how accurate this is.

Screamin' has 24 people car trains, with 5 trains on the track at once, with a shorter dispatch time (let's say 40 seconds).
If you add that up, its about 2160 pph.

If anyone has the dispatch times for both rides then we can figure it out.

I feel like the first lift cavern will get new brighter LED's and a new coat of paint to help the florescent colors pop.

I believe that is correct as there are rumors of a Big Thunder interactive which involve:

    1. A "game" where you have five blasting boxes (for dynamite), and when a little light says "charged" or something, you have to push it in time to trigger a fiber optic special effect that simulates a TNT explosion, before the light goes out.

    2. Animatronic racoons messing around with gears in a box, I guess somewhere up high so that guests can't get at it, maybe they are the new explanation for why the mine train goes out of control.

    3. A "miner's kitchen" where somebody has left the beans on the stove and you have to twirl a wheel or something to turn them over before they "burn".

Don't know what of this stuff is going into which Big Thunder (wdw or DL)

Could someone elaborate on the door effect? I guess I don't even know what doors you're talking about so I didn't know there was something that's supposed to happen :P

I thought the door was going down the hill following the last lift so it would be dark enough on the lift that it looked as though the train was going to continue into the blocked tunnel at the top.

Let's make it clear that, as of now, no NextGen elements will be coming to the BTM queue. The plans call for a portion of the queue to be allocated for future use in case NextGen proves a hit in WDW and finds its way to DLR. But when the attraction reopens from its refurb, there shouldn't be any NextGen elements.

Shucks... this would have been a good time to bulldoze it once and for all.

I'm very sad that we won't have BTMRR for Halloween Time this year, but if it gets some TLC and comes back stronger and safer than before, I'm all for it.

With the comment on "widening" the loading area and fixing the queue, I take that to mean that they will make it more accessible for wheelchairs and others who are disabled. Trying to navigate those stairs or the current platform--which has a lot going on in a relatively tight space--with a cane, a knee brace or a lung condition is hard.

I just wanted to add a few more things that have recently come to my attention that may have been missed.

One of the major improvements has been overlooked. As part of the brand new track being installed, the new track will now accomidate new ride cars as well. These new slightly wider ride vehciles will accomidate larger passengers and in the case of little people, allow 6 to ride in a vehcile rather than 4. This major improvement will increase ride capacity significantly.

I'm kidding. Overweight people will still allow their narrow companions lap bars be far enough away they fly out of the ride sufficently. /sarcasm.

So 3 "little people" or do you mean 3 average sized people can ride in one row after this refurb?

I agree, if it had been Indy getting an extensive refurb and not Big Thunder, I wouldn't be so disappointed.
