If they had trains with head rests, would the Goat Trick still be possible??

They did. New cars with updated sound systems.

Not to mention a brand-new ride soundtrack.
    My top favorite Disneyland attractions:

    1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
    2. Pirates of the Caribbean
    3. Splash Mountain
    4. Mad Tea Party
    5. Peter Pan's Flight
    6. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

Portions of the track have had to be replaced already, in past rehabs. It is something that is necessary every so many years due to stress and wear . I have some old Disneyland Lines (CM news publications) that tell about the past occasions. I don't know if the entire track is being replaced this time. The rumored refurb length suggests that it probabaly is.

We are going to DL 9/10 - 9/14. I have been looking at the refurbishment schedule on Disneys website. As of today, BTMRR is not on the refurb list, it has park info through 09/18...

I understand that rides have to go down from time to time, but why have it down during the holidays? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me!

To avoid having it down during the busier summer season would be my guess.

Having it down fr a period as long as this, it is always going to conflict with some holiday.

New trains will probably lessen the fun factor of BTMRR. Sliding back and forth and playing corners with my siblings is the best part of the ride. Riding by yourself is the best because it throws you from one side to the other. I'll be very upset if they replace the cars. Did they change the cars in WDW during their recent long refurb?

I haven't heard anything about it. I think they are the same.
