re: Glow with the Show---Fantasmic (Merged)

I guess I'm in the minority, but I am really excited about this. The glow ears totally made WOC go to the next level, and I can't wait to see how they work with F! I would love to see them work with other things, especially non show elements like they do in Carsland.

The glow ears were cool at first but now it's just getting annoying. And kinda overpriced, I don't get the whole point of Mickey ears, it's not like u can wear them in real life out of Disney parks.

I'm going to be in the minority and wait and see it for myself before I judge. Shocking, I know.

Because you can wear them in Disney Parks every time you visit. No one's forcing you to buy them or wear them. It's an iconic souvenir. Just the silhouette alone is recognizable to anyone who vaguely knows Mickey Mouse.

I don't see it as Disney having too many hats unsold. I see it as Disney slowly rolling out this additional feature to shows. If they advertise it properly, it could get groups of people to buy and wear them. Will it succeed? I don't know. But I'm glad Disney isn't just keeping things the same. They're taking a risk and not cutting corners like old DCA.

Just got my tickets to see the AP Preview of this and we bought our GWTS ear hats on the way out. (our anniversary is this weekend and I'm taking the guy to see WOC for THE FIRST TIME D: so it was worth it anyway) I absolutely LOVE what they've done with WOC and Fantasmic was never interesting to me (even when I was little) so I'm excited to see if it's enhanced at all. I'll let you know after the 28th

Those rides are supposed to have shut-off signals. I've seen the hats turn off automatically before...

I'm with Krillinish! I'll reserve my opinion until I see how these new ear hats impact the show. In fact, I'll be at the AP event to see first-hand whether these hats add to the entertainment of the show or detract from it.

I dont live in CA so I dont get to experience or enjoy these shows. SO until I actually get to experience it for myself I cannot say that it annoys me. I am waiting to try the ears out since my auntie bought me a AP set.

    Bit off topic.

Not sure if it's mentioned anywhere on this thread, but for those of you who were planning to go to the AP event, I just got word from my friend who went to the park yesterday that they are out of the event tickets.

Re: Glow with the Show---Fantasmic (Merged)

The glow with the show hats work on an RFID type system that is dived in show areas by sections. A broadcast signal is what controls the movement. Animated character heads work on the same premise.

There are systems in place that shut the hats off in darkrides

I know because I've taken mine on haunted mansion an as soon as you step in the mansion the ears go blank. And stay blank the whole experience.

If anyone has an extra ticket for the AP event tonight, email me. I am available to go when your group is meeting there. I went on Saturday to get tickets, but they were sold out.
