Wearing glasses at DLR Okay, So I have to wear glasses and if I don't I get headaches and can't see (obviously).
So here's my question has anyone had an issues with their glasses on certain rides?
For instance, when I go on Space Mountain or Screamin' I take them off but it's really no fun cause I can't see.
The reason I take them off is I'm scared they might fall off or something similar.
I'm going soon and was looking for some tips or answers especially since I don't want to miss the halloween overlay for SM.
Why not wear contacts?

I wear glasses all the time. I've worn them on every ride, including Space Mountian, Big Thunder, Matterhorn, Tower of Terror, etc. and I've never had them fall off. As long as they fit properly, I wouldnt worry too much.

I was gonna suggest the string thing but I didn't know the name so I just went with contacts lol.

The straps are called croakies. Get some, they may be out of style but who cares?I always wear them for thrill rides, and your trip will be way better not worrying about glasses
If your glasses are properly fitted, you shouldn't have any problems at all. Like sbk, I've worn my glasses on every single ride with no problem, both my regular glasses and my prescription sunglasses. A problem that people have with sunglasses is that most of the time they're off-the-rack and are not properly fitted--not a problem if you're just walking around in the sun, but when you get bounced around they can bounce right off. Regular glasses though, no prob.

If they are prescription glasses, then they should be properly fitted to your head/face and should have no problems staying on. I've worn my glasses on all the rides for years and they don't even move. The only time it gets annoying is on water rides like Splash, because they get water drops all over them. But that's a separate issue.
All of my Splash pictures have me covering my face--people think it's because I'm scared but I'm really just protecting my glasses from water drops. I do it on PoTC too. I don't even bother on GRR.
Another vote for croakies. You don't want to lose those glasses on a ride! If you check Amazon, they have some styles that are fun.
Yeah, think I'm going with the croakies before my Oct trip. Last time I went on Space Mountain (2003) I took them off and it really was horrible. I didn't mind it on Screamin'.
These are prescription but I got them with a free voucher from a health fair I went to last year. So, they may not be a perfect fit.
I also have perscription glasses that I wear 100% of the time. They stay on fine with every ride. If yours fit properly, I'm sure they don't be a problem, since perscription sunglasses are normally fitted to your face. But if you want to be extra sure, either buy some croakies, or secure them with string. My Spanish teacher secured everyone's sun glasses with string during my trip to Costa Rica, and they were just as effective as croakies would be. Just make sure that you tie the string securely!

IMO croakies are something that don't really fix the problem... if your glasses fit, then they will not come anywhere close to coming off on any of the rides
go to your optometrist and have them re-adjusted... takes less than 5 minutes... if you bought your glasses there, then they will most likely re-adjust them for free... even if you walk into like a random optometrist office, they won't charge you more than like $10 I think
