Transportation around DL area
Another odd question for you guys.
I'm staying at a hotel right across the street from DL. We need to get to Buena Park (Medieval Times) for dinner.
What's the cheapest way to get there? I've checked the shuttles but they only seem to go to and from the airport.
A taxi seems like it would be expensive. About $50 round trip. What are our other options and what are the costs?
Any help is appreciated! I didn't know where else to go for advice, and this forum is very active and all of you
are very helpful.
thanks!
Re: Transportation around DL area
LA Metro 460.
Picks you up right in front of Disneyland and will drop you off right in front of Medieval Times. Its a $1.50 each way.
400-499 Timetables

Is that the city bus? Any idea how long it would take to get there?
Re: Transportation around DL area
Yes it is a city bus.
Takes about 20-30mins.
Unless you rent a car or hire a taxi, you will not get there any faster or cheaper.

Awesome! Thanks very much! One more question.... does it pick you up on the harbor side? trying to picture the bus stop on that side. Where is it compared to the harbor disney entrance?
Re: Transportation around DL area
It picks you up and drops you off at the bus stop underneath the monorail on Harbor.
If you want a better picture, use Google maps street view.

Re: Transportation around DL area
You can also just go to maps.google.com instead of using the time schedule link which is usually hard to decipher. The 460 is definitely the right bus.
Put in your hotel and medieval times and choose the bus icon for the transit directions. That way you can time exactly which bus you want to take for your arrival and getting back to the hotel.
If you have a smart phone, use the google maps app as it works really well.

Re: Transportation around DL area
Does the metro announce each of their stops? Or will we have to know exactly where to get off the bus? The city bus is a new thing for us. I'm sorry to sound so dense. I'm a little nervous about finding our way around. I don't want to get us lost and miss our dinner/show.

it kinda depends. I take the OCT bus everyday to work not all stops are announce. But i will say this, ask the bus drive if they can let you know which stop is for the MTimes. most are friendly enough to let you know, tell them its your first city bus trip and you dont want to miss out on the stop. More then likely you'll stop just before MTimes or right after( which you will see if its right after)
Gl and its really NOT that hard, my first day of work i was nervous too, but did a trail run, and had TWO bus's to catch lol. Just ask and they will let you know

Ok. Thank you!
Re: Transportation around DL area
Also if you do a google map street view of the street prior to the stop you'll be able to get an idea of when your stop is coming up.
