This is one of the best threads I have found here on MC. I started visiting Disneyland in 1961, but even without that early connection I'd still be entranced by these photos.
Thanks to all for sharing.

I have many more pictures on the various golfing facilities at the Disneyland Hotel. It looks like there is enough interest to post more on this subject.
Here is one from the early 60's (I have the date somewhere and will post it). I believe it is 1961. It was used in a newspaper story.

Here are some still frames from the mini-golf course at the Disneyland Hotel from 1961. This was Chris Wrather's 9th birthday party and you may notice Chris in a few of the pictures. Again, not the greatest quality but the film is really nice.

Cool!
Thank you for sharing those pictures.
The pictures of the miniature golf course brings back great memories. Our family always had time to take in the park and play miniature golf in the same day.
Great pictures and stories from the early years at DL! I would love to view the video (film) from that era.
Here some more from the footage:

The last photo above also has the golf pro shop in it, just below the Holidayland Circus Tent in the picture.
Awesome pics, as always. I always look forward to these threads.
I am going to figure out a way to post the video of the footage from the Disneyland Hotel's mini-golf course here in this thread. Will have to consult with my 14 year old son on just how to do this. Stay tuned for further updates.
Loving these pictures!!! I would've LOVED to have gone a miniature golf course like this with all the Disney landmark references. When was this closed? Also, does anyone know of a mini golf course around like this nowadays? I would definitely have to put that on my to do list.
One more angle from overhead in 1961.

There was a mini golf course directly across the street from Disneyland for a number of years. It was not Disney affiliated in any way, as far as I know. It was off Harbor Blvd, directly across the street from all the tram and hotel shuttle pick up areas. I believe it's just a dirt field or parking lot now, but I remember visiting it in the 80s. Back when Melodyland was around...
Here are some more golf related photographs. The first shows the characters in the mini-golf course before they were painted to look more colorful.

Wow great photies thanks for taking the time to post. I really love these old pics :D
Thank you for sharing more of the Disneyland Hotel golf photos. My family lived in San Diego from early 1961 through late 1968 and we made regular drives up to Disneyland. We always talked about staying at the Disneyland Hotel back in those days, but it wasn't to become a reality for more than 30 years.
I never grow tired of looking at these photos of "a time back when."
