I am sure there is a much better, prettier way to attach these but this is my first time posting pics to this forum. Hope I'll figure it out by the time we get back from our trip in October... would love to be able to submit a trip report at that time!
Oh man I miss the skyway!!!! Plus that view with the rockets atop the people mover platform brings back good memories

I always appreciate old photos of Disneyland. I love looking at what used to be.

Aahhh, the People Mover. My Mom and Aunt would take us kids to DL all the time. We would take off for hours, then meet up at the Hub. While the kids played, the Adults would wonder, people watch, and ride the People Mover!
Great photos. Is it just me, or does that look like Star Tours construction in that Tomorrowland photo? If so, then 1986 would be about right.
You know... I'll have to pull out the originals (assuming I can find them) and look! I said 1986 just based on the fact that I remember what grade I was in and what specific trip I took these on. Of course... that was a long time ago and my memory could be faulty!

I also went to Disneyland in 1986, and I distinctly remember being upset that there was a high-tech ride based on Star Wars coming that I couldn't ride. The next time I went to Disneyland was as an adult in September of 2010. And it was closed for refurb!
I think the new, improved version will likely be the first attraction I visit on my next trip (two weeks from today--woohoo!). I only had to wait 26 years...
I hate to tell you, Jacchus, but have you checked the refurb schedule for September....?

Boy do I miss the Skyway & the original Rocket Rods, too (a canopy above the Tea Cups was a good idea) ... is it progress to remove an Attraction - or Ride - if there's a maintenance issue vs trying to replace it with something else? I think not !
