There's something vaguely familiar about this video

It's either a blatant rip off of Soarin', or perhaps a newer version???
It's kind of hard to tell what is real and what is CGI, heck maybe the entire video is CGI.

I'm guessing it s a mixture of both "live" flyover footage and generated stuff. I think the biplane that appears now and then is generated, and was simply composited on to the flyover scenes. But a lot of the scenes of nature, such as Bryce Canyon for example, have so much detail that I don't see how they could have generated that. The people waving, such as on top of the snowy mountain, were obviously added. The fireworks at the end are obvious fakes; not even real fireworks. But all in all I think they did a good job on this.

Well, for a knock off, at least they tried. True, some of the CGI parts did look like they came from a late 1990's PlayStation game, but it was still good nonetheless. Copy? Sort of. Inspired by? Oh definitely. At least this one isn't restricted to one state. That's a plus for me.

PS: Let's count how many times we see a person wave or yell out "Hello!" to the camera.

    Dear TDO,

Redo your Soarin' film based off of the concepts behind this video.

    Thanks,

The Vegas one is so cool!
    Fear of the unknown.

They are afraid of new ideas.

They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon any reality, but based onÖ if something is new, I reject it immediately because itís frightening to me. What they do instead is just stay with the familiar.
You know, to me, the most beautiful things in all the universe, are the most mysterious.

What makes this a rip off of Soarin'?
In the 80s, IMAX had a great one. There have been many fly-over-films for decades. I may have missed something in the video above that was truely a rip off from Disney since I have only been on it once.

The baseball being hit and coming at the screen....seems very much like the golf shot....I'm just saying it is filmed VERY similar to Soarin

Some of the CGI is so obvious it's almost hilarious, but I honestly think this is a better idea than Soarin' Over California. There is more to see.

If you don't immediately think Soarin' when you see this, you must've been asleep on the ride! Disney should go get some fresh material every few years to keep this great simulator feeling exciting and new. That is the dream of simulators - you just reprogram them with new footage and moves every few years.

    Soarin' America
    Soarin' World Showcase
    Soarin' Universe

And on and on. That's fifteen years of material that would keep people even more excited about this great attraction than they already are.
