Best way to be the last one out of the park!

Okay, so we are going to have 4 nights when we are there that the park will close at 8pm. What's the best way to delay the exit, I mean, drag it out without them having to take a broom to me?

How to be the last one out of the park!!

    I know you know.

As you're walking out, say you forgot your purse at Small World, walk back to get it, slowly walk out.

I often heard that if you arrive at a ride a minute before park closing, they have to let you on. So you might want to try that. You will not only get to ride the ride, but you will probably get to take your time leaving, perhaps having a chance to be the last one out.

Yes, get in line at Splash or Space right at closing time, so you are one of the very last people in line. Then browse in the main street shops until they ask you to exit, then walk very slowly to the gates.

What I have found is about 10-15 minutes before closing make sure you are in Critter Country, near the exit of Splash Mountain. From there hang out for a bit and wait until people are done spilling out from the ride. After that head out through Critter County, through New Orleans Square (I like to go through the back part of NoS as well if possible), through Frontierland and if you can try to get into Fantasyland by going around Big Thunder. Sometimes there is already security doing a sweep so you may not able to get back there. If that's the case just walk through Frontierland over to the castle/hub area and that's pretty much it.

You won't be the last to leave the park because Main Street is open one hour later than the park itself unless you plan on waiting. Nonetheless if you time it right the walk from Critter Country through New Orleans Square should be a lonely one. Good luck & may the Force be with you!

Protip: Don't linger too long. Security will start to tail you and make sure you are leaving so it's best to keep a somewhat steady (even if slow) pace.

    I did it!

I just wanted to let you guys know it is possible to be the last one out! I accomplished this feat. 9/7/12(how convenient that it was dapper day). We waited around next to the flag pole, till 12:30(park closed at 11) and as they were escorting out we saw brett the famous ap holder. We went over and asked him if he would let us be the last to leave and he happily said yes. They allowed us to walk main street with them as they directed guests out. Once we go to the gate, brett left and he allowed me to exit behind him and they shut the gates. I can now check that of the bucket list!! I got a video of it too but its kinda bad haha. I know you can do it to though! Good luck!

The best way is to get a VERY late reservation for Club 33 (the latest they have each night) and order the Vintner. Last time we pulled this we got out between 30 and 45 minutes after Disneyland closing. And they don't rush you. There was nobody in the park then except for stragglers on Main Street. It's a lovely experience.

Second best is to just make it so you find yourself as deep into the park as you can and in line for an E-ticket ride of a sort at closing and just lollygag on the way out.

While reading this thread, it makes me wonder....Is this rude to CMs? Are they hoping to leave after they get all the guests tucked into their cars? Or will the CMs be in the park for hours after closing anyways?

Make small talk with Security who are doing their sweeps at the end of the night to ensure there are no guests in the park.

You just have to walk slowly. Security and other CMs will also walk slowly. Let everyone else make their way out. You'll be in the last group of guests walking down Main Street, with security/CMs having swept the whole park except Main Street. Continue to hang back without stopping so there's no need for the "broom".

You'll probably be in competition with other guests wanting to be the last one out. If not, you're golden. I've been last out several times, but that *was* 20 years ago.

Some great suggestions, thanks!! Yeah, it would be cool just to be able to say, "I was once the last one out", and I don't even know why.

Re: Best way to be the last one out of the park!

The Club 33 recommendation is a good one. We got out at about 10:15 p.m. one night when the park closed at 8 p.m. on a Sunday night. They had to open the gate for us to get out.

Being the last out of the park is actually much easier than that, though. I've done it both at DL and DW. Just camp yourself on one of the benches by the Main Street train station and be patient. You can see everyone who's still milling around Town Square and the Emporium (which is often the very last store to have guests), and security won't approach you until almost everyone is out. Even then, they'll just kind of saunter by and ask how you're doing.

It is a pretty awesome feeling to hear the gate clang shut behind you.

If you really want to be sure you're truly the last person out, though, you probably want to do it on a night the park closes at 11 p.m. or midnight since there's a good chance there's still guests in the Club well after 9 p.m. if it's a night the park has closed at 8 p.m. or earlier.

If you can get a night in the Dream Suite, does that count since you'll be there all night?
