I would take advice from BoygunaSurf and Red Shirt Guy anytime. Always great to read new tips and tricks.
Thanks for sharing your Trip Report. Great pics that brought me right back into the weekend.
I wanted to originally run the Disneyland Half Marathon as sort of a goal to work towards (long story short I used to be very heavy and couldn't even run 5 minutes a few years ago, I lost weight but still wasn't where I wanted to be so I decided to start running and stuff, of course along with the healthier and more nutritious lifestyle I had already developed) and I thought it would be cool to have my first one be at a place that harbors so many memories and good feelings for me. And I then I fell in love with and became so involved in running through my training and it was hard waiting for this one just so it could be first but it was certainly worth it! Everything was so well organized and just a great run!
I finished in 2:13:27 (10:11 mile avg). It was my first one and I came out basically unscathed thanks I think in large part to my training and hope for prepardness. My hope is it can only go up and I'm already signed up for 2 more Half Marathons and looking to add two more before next years Half. Seeing your changes in time Boygunasurf is truly inspirational and while I will probably never get as low as yours, it's still neat to see your progress and how far you've come. Thanks for sharing!
This has to be one of the best reports I've ever read here. Funny, great photos...made my morning! I ran the race this year and definitely think that Disney puts on just about the most well-organized HM's ever. I PR'ed at 1:50:35 and was stoked about that, but really was hoping to get it down to at least 1:45. I have another Half in Savannah in less than 2 months. Any tips?
^^^ Maybe you should wear red...
Don't wear white without nipple protection.
My piercings require band aids as well, glad I'm not the only one.
What is PR?
Oh, gotcha. Thanks.
I like PB better because I love peanut butter.
Break a leg Clinks.
A jolly thanks for all the kind words, friends. Much appreciated! To prepare for the big race of the season, I came down this week to check out a slightly less crowded version of the parks with my parents and brother on the 17th-19th. Ran in the AM before the parks opened, swam in the afternoon and walked around for miles, riding on rides. All good things. I will probably attempt a trip report this weekend, but most BoygunaSurf trip reports that are non-race weekend related are a little bland - I will see what I can do to liven it up.
Thanks again for taking a look at this thread and for partaking in such splended dialog!
