Thanks, Region, for sharing. I enjoyed each and every one of these photos, but especially those from the submarine voyage.

Thanks for posting all of this, RB, it's fantastic! I've always been fascinated by how big ideas grew, but when I visited DL for the first time (just two years ago), my imagination went wild. This is fascinating stuff. I can't get enough!

Hard to believe there was a time when the Mansion wasn't at Disneyland. Here are some early construction photos:

Re: Disneyland Old Photos and Ephemera: The Resurrection

Once more, fascinating photos, Dave! Thank you. Love the billboard in front of the construction, and as was discussed in the HM long-forgotten thread and blog, the glimpse of the cement wall for what as probably intended as a separate cemetery plot at the side of the house in photo #3.

Will have a few selections for this thread in just a little bit.

Today's selections are 'behind the scenes' type peeks, so enjoy!

Main Street still in the finishing process, likely 1955 to judge by the exteriors and state of the castle. Just needs some cement and pavement finishing, trees and plants....

The Haunted Mansion's 'birthday ghost' of honor, usually only viewed from above fleetingly as you pass the eternal party taking place in the ballroom.

I miss this so much. They really need to make this open to the public again. They can find somewhere else to put whatever is there now.

Ditto...I get sad every time I see what Fort Wilderness looks like now, and how it has no function as far as the guests are concerned.
