Disneyland Old Photos and Ephemera: The Resurrection

For those not familiar with the old thread, most of the photos still there even though it's closed: DL Ephemera

So, here we go with a shiny new thread, some old favorite images (only a few over the run, I promise) and ones not yet shared scanned from my personal collection of guidebooks, press materials, souvenirs, postcards, and etc.


Rather weird vegetable characters from the State Fair promotion parade held at the park (late 1980's)


Employees posing in the waiting area for the Rocket to the Moon attraction.


The River Belle breakfast spread, from a 1990's guidebook.


How I miss this attraction as it originally was. The graveyard of lost ships, deep sea fish, mermaids, the giant squid, the sea serpent...it was fantastic, plastic unmoving fish and all.


The Dairy Bar was a sponsored Tomorrowland exhibit from 1956 - 1958


Shootin' gallery inside the Davy Crockett Arcade building, likely 1950's.


New Orleans Square ODV cart selling various candy and nuts, 1980's. Directly across was (at the time) the space of the Gourmet Shop, selling Southern/New Orleans food items and cooking utensils.

I'm currently reading through Christopher Stodden's The Disneyland Encyclopedia, so it's great to see photos of things I've never seen, only read about, before; like the Dairy Bar, for example.

Here we have a good look at the width of Bear Country, before the advent of Splash Mountain. The entrance to Country Bear Jamboree at this point is behind/to the side of the photographed angle on the right.




Doubtless, Skull Rock cove and the Tuna Boat were more spectacular at night than this image really conveys, but at least get a sense of the ambiance and lighting here.


An excellent view of Matterhorn construction and the as-yet unopened Submarine Lagoon, almost certainly in 1959, but no specific date known.
