Would Captain Hook be more fun as a face character?

My daughter and I encountered the mute, masked Captain Hook in Disneyland's Big Thunder Ranch today, and he seemed unnaturally quiet. I don't want many of the animal characters to talk, but Captain Hook could be as much fun to play as a talker as Cruella. Imagine gifted CMs (and L.A. has many gifted actors) trying to outdo Dustin Hoffman or Jason Isaac's portrayals.

(I have a list of ideas for a talking Captain Hook on post #30 at the bottom of page 2 on this thread. Ridiculously unnecessary link: Would Captain Hook be more fun as a face character? Just click and then go the bottom of the page! )

P.S. Hook currently sports one of my favorite masks, so congrats to its creator!

It would be better as a face character. His head looks too big now.

I agree. Part of Hook's charm and appeal is that he is a very verbally gifted character. That would be awesome to interact with. He would be one of those villains who not only embraced his evilness, but was charasmatic enough to think he was actually the hero.

    Give him a voice.

It's odd seeing as how most of the other traditionally drawn human characters are Face Characters at the park, yet Hook is not...

The Mad Hatter used to be a masked character but is now a face character. So it would probably be ok to do this with Capt Hook.

Yeah, his head is kinda creepy in my opinion as it stands. I think a regular human face would look a lot better.

I said no keep him the way he is. I've seen the one they use for Fantasmic and to me the face verison doesn't look nothing like Capt. Hook to me samething with Mr. Smee the face verison of him doesn't look right.

Disneyland actually tried Hook as a face character in the 90's. He was pretty creepy in a bad way, I wish I had photos.

More of the recent human characters, except princesses, have been masked. It's a shame really because I think the motivation is cost more than show.

Actually, I think both Hook and the crocodile should be face characters.
