I decided that I wanted to see the shuttle over Disneyland. We happened to be at Disneyland a few weeks ago for the preparation flight. We had an F-18 fly overhead (north of the Matterhorn) while we were in line for Alice in Wonderland.
My family got to the park early (traffic was a nightmare) and started to scope out locations. I decided against Main Street since I didn't think I could get a shot with both the shuttle and the castle together. I thought about Main Street Station but decided on Innoventions.
The crowds started cheering, people gave high fives, and everyone was smiling. I think its one of the few times that people were in the park yet you could walk on almost any ride you wanted. Here are a few of the pictures I've taken from the top of Innoventions.
I'm sitting here looking at all these pictures and videos and crying for a few reasons. I look at the shuttle being carried by the airplane and it is kind of a sad sight to see. The last flight it will ever take and it has to be carried. I'm also proud of the accomplishments our country has made so feeling patriotic. Sad that this chapter of our country has been closed. Lots of emotions. Thank you for sharing your photos and videos. Wish I could have been there.
