HELP! How to do both parks in one day...

So, do to HHN at USH that we are going to, i am only going to be at Disneyland
SEPT 30 from open to close. I want to do EVERYTHING possible, i have not been
in a year and i know there is a little more to do now, i have never been to
disneyland for less thn 3 days at a time. ANY HELP planning this day trip to
disneyland would be amazingly and greatly appreciated I will even paypal
u a tip for your help (seriously)

since it will be your first time in going in a year I'm sure the first thing on your list will be DCA so you can experieince BVC and Carsland. Here is what I usually do when I only have a single day to try and enjoy both parks.

I would line up first thing in the AM to DCA to grab a fastpass for RSR and/or jump in the single rider line. From there I would head to PP and check the wait time on TSMM because that line gets long early and stays that way, after that if you want to hit CS since it's right there then go for it. Despite wanting to stay I would usually head over to Disneyland and start from POTC, work my way up through HMH and even possibly a trip on Splash. From there I would hit BTMM and continue my trip through the back path up into Fantasyland. Hit Mr. Toad (check the wait time for Peter Pan, if its short than hit it. if not then you might come back later for it) Once done there I would hit the Matterhorn, wait might be a little long due to the new sleds but still fun. After Matterhorn I would grab a fastpass to SM Ghost Galaxy (best time to ride it and get the full effect is at night). Since you're in the area hit STII. By now you should be hungry so I would hit the corn dog cart or something close to main street. Now that I've gone on most of the main attractions at DL I'm free to either hit the smaller attractions (ie. Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, fantasyland rides) or head back to DCA and grab a FP for ToT, cut throgh bugs land and either make your way back through Carsland to REALLY soak up the experience or make my way to Soarin or GRR. If you want you could stay at DCA till about dusk ( by now your FP for RSR should be valid and so should your ToT FP) and spend the last 30 min of daylight at Carsland to watch the neon lights go up. its epic. and NOW its time for RSR and then head back to ToT and get that in, before heading back to DLR. It should be dark by now so its perfect to hit Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy! After that you now could do whatever rides or shows you want to close out the night. That's kind of a gameplan I use when only getting to go for a day.

8:50 - Ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (usually a shorter line by this time of day).

10:00 - Grab a Dole Whip, and relax at the Tiki Room.
10:20 - Walk across the park to Tomorrowland.
10:30 - Ride Space Mountain before it gets ridiculous wait times.

11:45 - Grab a FastPass for Star Tours.
11:50 - Walk out of Disneyland (you'll be back soon).
12:15 - Walk through the turnstiles of CA Adventure.
12:20 - whenever - Enjoy the ambiance of Buena Vista Street. There's so much to see!
1:00 - Eat at Carthay Circle Restaurant.
2:00 - Ride Soarin' or Grizzly River Rapids.
3:00 - Ride either California Screamin' or Toy Story Midway Mania.
4:00 - Walk over to Tower of Terror.
4:10 - Ride Tower of Terror.
5:10 - Walk over to Cars Land.
5:20 - Ride Maters Junkyard Jamboree + Luigis Flying Tires.
6:30 - Eat at Flo's V-8 Cafe.
7:00 - Ride Radiator Springs Racer in the single rider line.
8:00 - 8:30 - Walk around Cars Land, take it all in.
8:45 - Try and find a spot to watch World of Color.
9:00 - Watch World of Color.
9:30 - Ride The Little Mermaid.
9:50 - Before you leave, grab a sundae at Ghiradelli.
10:00 - Leave CA Adventure.
10:15 - Enter Disneyland.
10:20 - Ride Star Tours w/ FastPass.
10:45 - Ride Jungle Cruise.
11:15 - Ride Matterhorn.
11:45 - Ride as many Fantasyland rides you can before they shoo you out.
12:00 - Leave Disneyland.

That's just a template schedule to get everything in, in one day, base your trip off what you like!

And I'd recommend doing the Fantasyland dark rides first, followed by Matterhorn. By the time you've done those five rides, the whole left side should still be quiet. It's usually the last part of the park to fill.

Is this your last trip to DL ever?
If not, then don't lose your mind over it. It will be approximately 12 times better than HHN.

Most importantly.....if your plan falls apart, don't sweat it.

You're at Disneyland with a giant grin on your face.......all the planning in the world isn't going to make the grin any bigger

This is a really good plan. Add a few more fast passes to it IMO and you're good to go. Just leave out rides that aren't your fav!

No problem! I love making plans for people when they go.
If it hasn't affected you before at the park, it's kind of abusing the system, I think. If it has, go ahead, just prepare to be heckled by people claiming since your not in a wheelchair or have special needs you shouldn't be allowed to get the pass (I've witnessed this before).

Here's what I recommend. May require extra work, but will be worth it IMHO

take advantage of the fastpasses.

Have all of your party start at one park, preferably DCA. Get FP for Radiator Springs Racers.

Once you have them, gather all the tickets and have someone go to the Disneyland side. Get fastpasses to a ride there (i.e. Star Tours or Space Mountain).

Then, pay attention to when you can get another fast pass. As soon as you can get another pass, get it.

Take advantage of an app like Mobile Magic, Walkee, Mousewait, etc. to keep track of times.

You don't need to do this for every ride, just the big ticket ones, or the ones you really want to go to.

OH Chesire it has, i had my main 1 of 9 MAJOR anxiety attacks at DTA in line, out of know were and is why i have not been back all year lol
